The hotel is situated close to Vondel Park, very nice area and the neighborhood is nice , but the hotel is being remodeled, therefore, the bathroom are newer, but the rest was like an old motel, they really need to remodel!there was no internet conection;;;the great thing was the staff all very freindly and informative;;;;
the rate should have been lower since the hotel was under construction. go after april 2008 when the construction is over
Great location for Amsterdam city centre lovers! A pity that the building was under construction, but little was the impact on comfort. Friendly, helpful people at the reception!
I stayed mid-November 07 and the hotel was being refurbished (completion due May 08). Entry was by temporary staircase on first floor, so not too user-friendly! Construction work starts around 0800 so have an early breakfast and get out! Otherwise, the hotel was clean and the staff were ok.
Under renovation - lift not operational, the stairs would not suit people suffering from vertigo . Not geared to business travellers.
Room was good, the beds were excellent. Had a great sleep eventhough the hotel is undergoing construction works. Location is excellent, right in the exclusive shopping area P.C. Hoofdstraat, around the corner from Museum Plein with the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, 5 minute walk from Vondelpark and Leidse Plein. Had an excellent deal due to the construction works.
The Hotel is going under renovation so the price is cheap, you must expect that you are going to stay in a construction site, but no noise. Rooms are very small in size, I had leakage from the celing of the bathroom, so i was moved to another room which its bathroom had some leakage under the sink. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is very good and close to Hard Rock cafe and many touristic attractions, and you can take the Tram No 2 or 5 which passes in front of the hotel to go to central station. The elevator is not working due to the construction process, so expect to carry your luggage through the almost vertical stairs to the upper floors (reception offer help for luggage) but you need to climb the stairs each time you want to go to and leave your room.
The hotel is undergoing renovation so it looks a little bad from the outside. The elevator was out of order during our stay. Seniors would have some serious issues with the stairs (very Steep). I liked the hotel and thought the price was fair. The hotel is right beside the tram lines and getting around was very easy. I saved money by booking through [your website]. Hotel was sold out.
A nice hotel with good service. The location seems bad at the map, but it's really not. It's a lot going on in this area, and it's not far to walk to wherever you want to go in the city centre. It takes about 40 minutes to walk to the other end of the city. Nice bathroom with a bathtub. They are renovating the ground floor, but I didn't notice any noise because of that. The lift was out of order so be careful when you carry your suitcase up the steep stairs. All in all, you get good value for your money.
Located in the center of the center!!! you cant get closer!!! close to all musea and shoppingstreet! Hotel is under renovation at the moment( 07/07). Rooms are dated but still a good value! Nice helpfull management. OK dutch breakfast buffet!
The hotel is ideally located, the staff was very friendly. The works however started at 8 o'clock in the morning and not 10, with workmen looking into my window and trying to chat me up, which of course was EXTREMELY UNPLEASANT!!!
The hotel is in the process of remodelling so much of my impression is based on the inconvience of a remodel. This being said, the price was good, the location was excellent, the room was clean, and breakfast was included.
the hotel was very conveniently located. Room size was decent, breakfast was very good for european standards. The bathtub/shower had no showercurtain which made taking a shower a challenge. International calling cards did not work from the room but reception made every effort to accomodate us with their front desk phone. I would wait to visit untill construction to the hotel has been completed, it did get noisy during the day.
The hotel couldn't be better placed...it's right off of a tram line (great when you have luggage) and right next to the Rijksmuseum. The Van Gogh Museum is just down the street. Lots of restaurants in the area. Receptionists are very friendly and helpful. There is free internet-always a plus. Breakfast was boring. The stairs are crazy steep and the elevator is not operational during the construction. The room was absolutely tiny. I would stay here again.
the elevator was out of order and the stairs are very stiff. But the overall impression is good.
The hotel is under renovations at the moment (scaffolding on the outside and I couldn't figure out how to get into the hotel initially) but the room (with one single bed) was good, quiet and clean. The hotel is right on a tram line (#2 or 5) and is very close to shopping and the Rijks and Van Gogh Museums respectively. Breakfast was fine, really good granola and the usual spread of meats and cheese, bread and fixings. I would stay here again.
The shop under the hotel is undergoing refurbishment and is a building site at the moment and noisy during the week but no work happens at the weekend. The hotel is basic and in need of decoration and repair. It is a cheap hotel located very near the major museums of Amsterdam but quite a walk from the centre.
It was very difficult to find this hotel...because of remont. We had room on the 5th floor and the elevator wasn't going- the stairway was very terrible to use after short visit in the coffe shop, The rooms were clean and comfortable enouh to spent weekend in Amsterdam
Even though the hotel was under the reconstruction, it was clean, quiet and comfortable. It is very well situated (specially for those who like museums), easily to get around the city. I wouln´t have a problem to recommend it to anybody.
