Very good hotel with great facilities. Unfortunately, it's located at one end of the town. If you happen to stay in Bangkok for 4 to 5 days , you'll have to spend extra 1000 THB (approximately $30), to go to the city and come back on all five days by taxi. Altogether, we ended up going to the city three times and had to spend about 500-600 THB, which was not so bad, in the end. The upside is Chatuchak market, which is 5 min from the hotel and has a free shuttle service from the hotel. There is about 5000 shops in that market, if you're in the mood to bargain and buy. All in all, a pleasant stay with very good staff.
This hotel (I belive) was an old Hyatt but is showing it's age. Some rooms have been re-done but not all. Location is good for Chatachuk market and the Thai Airways headquarters (which I had to visit) but not for much else. The mall next door is OK but only has low end, fast food eateries. The hotel breakfast is average.
A large, older hotel with large rooms but in need of some refurbishment. It is close to a useful mall and Chatuchak market but otherwise a little remote. The staff are helpful but the breakfast is average.
Metro station is close to the hotel but need to pass through shopping mall. Water is not so clean, smells iron.
Very good value if you don't mind being a little out from the centre. However, taxis and metro so cheap and efficient it didn't seem to matter.
We originally picked this hotel for it's close proximity to airport which turned out to be a mistake as the airport has now changed. However, we found it to be a welcoming hotel with nice decor and facilities and a great massage place located in shopping mall next to car park. It is also handy for the weekend markets.

Hotel well positioned next to large shopping / movie complex and on the Bangkok undergound network. Made access to city easy and plenty of excellent different types of restuarant and food outlets.
The italian restaurant at the sofitel was very impressive. Bathroom was nice and the room was good.
It was exspecially nice to be at the hotel this past January because there was a Super Bowl Football breakfast and live coverage of the game, the dinner buffet the previous evening was also one of the best I have had in Bangkok and Thailand for that matter!

Great hotel and the location is pretty good - 10 minutes in a cab and you are at the airport. The buffet breakfast is top of the range, the staff are very friendly and the rooms are a very good size.
Great hotel if you are transiting through Bangkok. Right next to a shopping centre with a great food section. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Excellent location if transiting through Bangkok. A little further away from the airport than the 10 mins stated but not too far nevertheless by taxi (have the hotel meet you and avoid the long taxi queues if arriving late). Good choice of restaurants and great breakfast buffet, with shopping mall next door if you have some time to kill while waiting for flight connection. Will stay here again.
Fabulous hotel!! Great location, excellent facilities, superb buffet breakfast and lovely staff. Definately worth the extra dollars to stay in this hotel, would highly recommend to any type of traveller!!
