The Sofitel Hua Hin provides a true 5 star experience. My visit was relatively short - only two days, but I could have happily spent much longer at the resort. Hua Hin has some interesting attractions and places to eat, but it would be pointless to spend too much time 'exploring' the town as the Sofitel is a self contained holiday experience; very relaxing and pampering. To be picky, there are a few things that could be improved. Light switches in the room (that I stayed in, I assume the rest are similar) are illogical and not where would would expect them to be, which I found midly irritating at first. This could easily be rectified by the hotel at some stage. The 11.00 check-out time was also the earliest I experienced in Thailand (at least in classy hotels) and should be extended to at least mid-day, particularly as the hotel did not appear to be heavily booked at that time when I stayed there. But, these were minor quibbles. overall - excellent value for money.
The stay was absolutley enjoyable.
Service is quite good, but for this romm rate should have some welcome fruite or some sweets in the afternoon. Though this hotel located in Thailand but their library have no any literatures in Thai -- Surprise!
Initially I was impressed with the reception who turned out to be the duty manager. However the professionalism in the hotel declined from this high point. In many cases I could see that people had training and were trying to follow up. However, there was considerable room for improvement. Perhaps the most annoying moment though was when we returned to our room at 2 am on the final night to discover a note pushed under the floor informing us that our checkout time would be 11am the next morning. My partner was livid... Lousy customer relations, price gouging and the closure of the club on a Sunday night would be just some of the criticisms that I would level. In the case of the club I would suggest that it would be as popular withour the resident band as with. Very badly managed place and a couple of casual conversation with other guests revealed that we were not the only people who had complaints to report. Its a shame really. The location and property are lovely.
Beautiful hotel in fantastic suroundings, one of the few on the beach and also near the main nightspots. Amazing buffet breakfast and lovely room. But you pay 5 star prices of course!!!
The sofitel was expensive but worth it! Beautiful colonial type hotel set on fantastic and attention to detail by the staff was very good. The rooms were large and spacious and very well equipped. We realy enjoyed our stay and will definately stay again.
My friends were at this hotel for seven nights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was very good for swimming. The rooms are as described in images, very clean. We recommend this hotel to all those who wish to visit Thailand.
Sofitel offers a great location to both the beach and the town. The room we stayed in was good but starting to look a little tired and in need of a face lift. The overall service from front desk to pool attendents was average. The most disappointing thing was the amout of plastic bags and rubbish on the beach in front of the hotel.
My girlfriend and I enjoyed our five-day stay very much. This is a very charming hotel with reasonably good service, as expected given the rather high price. It's probable that one could obtain better value for money in Hua Hin, but I would still recommend the hotel. Unlike the writers of earlier comments posted here, we had no problems with check-in so hopefully this issue has been addressed.
This my favourite hotel in the whole world. Even though the hotel was full on my latest visit, everything is presented and managed exquisitely and I did not feel 'crowded' at all, in fact the opposite is true. The spacious grounds (and great topiary) are a real delight, particuarly when the centre of hua Hin is just a few steps outside the hotel grounds...
We enjoyed an excellent stay at this hotel in a wonderful setting. It is just a pity that internet access is so complicated. When on holiday it is nice to check e-mail once a day and in an hotel of this standard there should be free terminal.
Kinda quaint but the pool villas don't offer much privacy.
Why only "Average" on Service is the check in and out was a problem, they try to charge an other price than I you have given me. They said not breakfast included, even I have paid extra for 2 American Breakfast. After a too long discussion I was happy. So the start and the end at the Sofitel Hotel Hua Hin was not so good. Looks like they saw the docutemtaions you have sent me for the first time........???? But all in all the hotel is just beautiful 100%
This is one of the best hotels we have stayed in, the staff are so attentive and friendly. The food is excellent. The hotel is in a splendid location very convenient for Hua Hin town yet secluded from the noise & hub-bub. Will definitely return.
In my opinion this is one of the best kept secrets in Far East luxurious resorts. Service (Western management, Thai staff) is bettered only by the Oriental in Bangkok (but that is just in a class by itself in world hotels). From the moment you arrive, when you are given a full Royal salute at the gate, you are made to feel very special in a spacious, historic building set in the most beautifully manicured grounds on the sea front. Difficult to express why it is so good and so different in just a paragraph or even in a full page. Service is very personal, fast, attentive and charming. The pools are wonderful, with ample fluffy towels and loungers. Even when the hotel is full, you rarely see more than a handful of other guests at once. It's the perfect place to relax. By comparison, the Hilton next door just has no soul!
very stylish hotel with loads of character.Rooms spacious and airy.Breakfast buffet one of the best, top quality products.Location ideal for checking out HuaHin.
Fantastic hotel with old-world charm. Highly recommended. Much better laid out than neighbouring Hilton.
Excellent value for money in the low season. Recommended.
I've traveled the world and stayed at some of the greatest!! this is a very special piece of paridise !! if you get the chance JUST DO IT.
An expensive but luxurious old world resort. Fronts one of the rare pieces of wide beach at Hua Hin - most of the other resorts have the waves come right up to the sea wall. A day at the spa is a must.
