Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights. The check-in process was slow, as at the time of booking the Orbitz site said breakfast was included. This was a mistake (apparently by Orbitz). This should be corrected now, but please check this prior to booking if you plan on staying here. Staff - for a high-end resort, I found that the staff could have been more accommodating/friendly/helpful. When I brought up the issue about breakfast being included, rather than looking into the issue, the front desk lady first told me I was wrong, and didn't care about the physical paper reservation details I had in hand. I had to speak to the front-desk manager, at which point she listened to me and got the credit added to our room. Breakfast - the breakfast is pricey (although it was included for us), but it was great!! There is plenty of selection for everyone. Different cereals, pastries, breads, fresh fruits, hot dishes...just a lot to choose from. We sat near an open window, where you can take in a view of the garden area outside. There are lots of birds flying around, and it was a nice experience. Room - we had an ocean view room, and it was amazing. As soon as we get up, we could see the ocean. The room was clean. The shower/toilet area is very small, and could be lit better. Also, the sink area outside could have better lighting. The lights look nice, but I'd rather have brighter lighting. Other - the hotel is on the beach, so you can walk from your room to the beach. Sofitel has hammocks placed in various spots throughout the shoreline. Be sure to take advantage of this. Grab a book, some sunglasses/hat, and get ready to relax and take in the sunset! Laundry facility on site was nice to have. There are several restaurants to choose from, so that's nice. People - its a family friendly place, so we did see several families with kids, who take up the pool.

The room is great but swimming pool is so small and full of people. Should be a great place for family with children but not the best choice for couples.

Ticked all the boxes. Very obliging staff. Facilities flawless. Delivered higher than expectations - will be back!

Only stayed one night en route to a holiday in a Fijian Island. Hotel was nicely positioned to get to Denerau Port for Boat transfer to Islands. Hotel had own shuttle bus which was complimentary. Nice rooms with good facilities and the staff were helpfull and friendly. Would recommend to others.

Enjoyed our stay. Very nice all round, staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a good time there with plenty to do in the area. The prices inside the resort were over priced, but the were other options available suich as going to the port for dining etc. As always the staff were very friendly and helpful.

A little dissapointing with the quality of the food given the prices charged. The room, the facilities and the location of the resort however were excellent.

Nothing ordered as part of our package was supplied without having make a (multiple) request. Staff were pleasant but had seemed quite aloof and were slow to deal with requests. Check in took over half an hour as they couldn't find our reservation. There was no consistency in the way the same beverage/cocktail at the bar tasted or was presented. The food and service in 'V' restaurant was excellent, as you would expect for fine dining and the prices reasonable. The service and consistency generally was not what you would expect from Accor or Sofitel. 'V' restaurant was really the saving grace! Rooms clean but lacking amenity or luxury feel. Spa staff were condescending and made us feel uncomfortable with their smirks and fake smiles. We got a good price (thanks, (website)!) and enjoyed a sensational meal at 'V' and the beach and weather were great. Though I am sure there are better options in terms of service and luxury feel.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions and have always found it to be very professional. The buffet breakfast is to be seen to be believed and is outstanding. This trip they were a little behind the ball park as the hotel was full and service was slower than normal. This is to be expected when so many people to look after. The pool is the best in the pacific

Great location. Staff very friendly. Dining in hotel quite expensive so better to take free Bula bus to Port Denerau and eat at numerous restaurants there. Hotel right on beach, beautiful pool. Would definitely stay at Sofitel again and have told friends about it.

Stayed as part of a conference and shared a room. Very spacious and excellent facilities. Would definitely consider bringing the family.

The staff at the Sofitel are amazing! Great place to go with children on the school holidays! We are planning a trip back!

Housekeeping are forgetful to replace soaps, sugar... Mandara spa was fantastic. Everything is on Fiji time...Staff at the Salt and Breeze Bar are fantastic and very friendly.

Fabulous hotel only 5 mths old. Fiji has hiked it's prices since Bali isn't safe, so expect to pay thru the nose. Fijians are lovely! Service is extremely slow, everything in Fiji time! Gorgeous pool area, rooms spacious and comfortable and have a water view. Try the spa, it has so many options to choose from. Para gliding team are fabulous, you must try it. Best hotel on Denerau Island, outshines the Sheratons and the Westin Hotel.
