Sofitel Plaza Hanoi

"Deluxe room was a little smaller than I expected but with a lovely fit out, nice views and nice bathroom - what you would expect of a five star hotel. The downside of the location is that restaurants are not within walking distance. Gym facilities are very good but the pool is not suitable for young children, being quite deep, and health club members frequent the pool doing laps up and down. The extremely slippery floor surface surrounding the pool is LETHAL, with only two very small signs indicating that care nees to be taken. I had two very bad falls within a short space of time and am still sore, over a week later." - Carol Allen

"Hotel facilities good except for Bedroom and bathroom which are not up to standard for usd 150 night. Could hear all noises from corridor, basin tap badly positioned,terrible water drainage sound after using bathroom. "The location of the Hotel is not central but it's next to the beautiful West Lake, it costs about 50,000VND to get to the City Centre. The staffs were helpful but most of their English is limited. The Hotel's Chinese restaurant Ming Palace was not as good as expected - the servings were small and the prawns were frozen not fresh." - Anonymous

"A good 'business'type hotel if you wish to be at that part of Hanoi. We also stayed at the Melia Hotel,Hanoi on this trip and rated that better on most counts although it could have had their room a bit cleaner." - Peter Kariotis
