Sofitel Shanghai Hyland Hotel

We stayed at the Sofitel Hyland for our past 2 trips to Shanghai and found the staff to be very helpful in anything that we asked or needed. We stayed in the Club floors and thoroughly enjoyed the Happy 2 Hours on the 30th floor each evening. We had breakfast on the 2nd floor rather than the 30th, just to enjoy the great selection of western and Asian food available there. We will stay there again when we next visit Shanghai and would recommend this Hotel to any persons who like to stay in a 5 star Hotel.

The staff have been friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is very good.

The Sofitel Hyland is in excellent location around 5 min to The Bund, 1 min from the metro and in the centre of pedestrian shopping mall. Service is lower than what I had expected of the brand. The room is small, the bathroom is worse, more like a 3-star hotel I'd say, and so is not worth the price. Good for first time visitor who wants to be in a good location near the touristy stuff.

I have stayed Sofitel Hotels third time this year, startng in Feb. in Dalat Vietnam, in June,Hangzhoun and Shanghai. Regarding the Chinese massage I experienced this time at both Sofitels, the effect was too much different though the cost was not so different; however this is a optional area and does not effect much for rating the hotels; overall I was satisfied with my hotel, especially the location in Shanghai.

The location is great and the hotel staff are helpful . Would highly recommend this hotel to any one who wants to visit Shanghai . Only issue to take note is ...the internet charges are EXPENSIVE ( 3 Yuan per minute ) if you use it at the business center . Linda - Malaysia

Good clean hotel in an excelent location right on Nanjing Road. But beware the pictures. Only club level rooms are newly refurbished. Other rooms are clean but a little bit worn out. Nevrtheless still a comfortable accomodation if the price is right.

Unfortunately, the Reception floor was being renovated during our stay and the smell of fresh paint permeated the whole hotel-this made us leave sooner than later as my wife is allergic to paint smell. Otherwise, we would have stayed another week.

Pretty good. Very very central to anything and everything you would want to do in Shanghai. Sights and particularly shopping. Nice room, excellent view. Staff were very good all round.

A very good hotel at a reasonable price in the best location. The service and staff were excellent.

Very imprssed with the hotel. Breakfast was also good value - unusual in a 5 star hotel when you just want soemthing small or light. Staff very helpful in write out direction in Chinese to give to taxi drivers. Strongly recommend this hotel
