Getting there:There are various theatres, concert venues and entertainment hot spots in the hotel’s vicinity. A car-ride from the hotel to the Tallinn Passenger Port takes 5 minutes and a drive to the airport takes 10 minutes.

Car parking:There are 20 paid parking places in front of the hotel. Parking for 15 minutes max is free of charge. Parking fee must be paid to the parking meter upon parking. Rates: 50 EEK/hour, 300 EEK/day. The car park of the Viru Centre is located on the 3rd and 4th floors of the shopping centre and can be accessed 24/7. Hotel guests are entitled to special prices:one hour–30 EEK; night-time parking (21:00-09:00 )–150 EEK; parking for 24 hours–300 EEK. Guests must present their hotel room key card.
Child Policy:All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots. All children from 3 to 12 years are charged EUR 13,50 per night and person for extra beds.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Sokos Hotel Viru Tallinn. The hotel is located in one of the best positions for exploring Tallinn's famous Old Town and is also attached to a wider shopping centre and restaurant complex. The staff were courteous and helpful throughout my stay and the room was very comfortable and pleasant. Breakfast was good and plentiful. There were always taxis available outside the hotel - not every hotel in Tallinn can say this, and it can be important when you need to get somewhere in a hurry. Overall, strongly recommended - with the added bonus of an excellent KGB musuem within the hotel itself, with guides explaining the role and life of the hotel during the Soviet era, which should be a must-visit for any guest.
Sokos Viru is perfectly situated near the old town and within the same complex of two of Tallinn's popular night clubs (The Cat house and Amigo). The hotel is a bit old and the rooms are quite small but its adequate for a weekend or short stay and is comparatively well priced. Will definitely use this hotel again.
Excellent location only 5 mins walk from the Old Town. Breakfast buffet was excellent & all the staff were friendly & helpful. No hesitations about staying here again if we ever returned to Tallinn.
High class standard hotel with excellent situation but no local atmosphere!
The Viru Hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of Old Town, and right on the tram line that goes to Kadriorg Park and the Kumu Art Museum, all important sights. The hotel is connected to a shopping mall and there is a night club and sauna. Included breakfast is ample and tasty. An excellent value hotel. Staff speaks English.
The only thing that was slightly uncomfortable I couldn't open the window. The A/C worked very well though.

That the 1st time we had seen that when you hang out the tag on your roomdoor about clean the room when you go to breakfast is finished when you are back. Very good hotel. We will use this again when we go back again.
