Splendid Hotel & Spa Nice

Splendid Room was average. No bell person. The hotel was centrally located. However it was older and needed updating

Although a short stay, a decent room with very friendly, helpful & polite staff. Great location being a few minutes walk from the main promenade, SNCF & tram stops. Would stay here again.

The Splendid offers a good quality of accommodation. It's a little walk (10mins) from the centre of Nice (i.e. the main shops and restaurants) but offers a gym and restaurant of its own - the latter with great views on Nice as it's on the 8th floor. The gym was a little over-sold as a 'gym' - in fact it's quite a small room with 3 pieces of equipment, at least 1 of which isn't currently working. Breakfast at 16Euros is too expensive for a Brit with the exchange rate at approx £1=1Euro, but outside cafes offered Petit Dejeuner Anglais for 6, 7, 8Euros. The room was cleaned very well every day during my 6night stay - and quickly too.

room furnishings a little dated otherwise very good. staff easy-going, helpful and friendly keep an eye out for offers and it is good value

sauna was broken and worthless swimming pool too cold but ok

A little bit worn, but not too bad. Great air-conditioning. Fitness room however is very small and unventilated, and it shares the space with the sauna, which was permanently on, making the gym too hot to use. Restaurant not over special. Overall good, I'd stay there again.

Evening meal taken in the hotel was excellent, would stay again.

Spent 7 nights in the Splendid end of Sep'04. Hotel is well located - a short walk 4 blocks to promenade, train station (take advantage of inexpensive trips to Monaco & Cannes) or old town for restaurants & shopping. I was upgraded to deluxe room on request (very nice indeed). Staff are very helpful & pleasent, rooms & facilities are good. Would strongly recommend this hotel at the right price!

Very understated French luxury- everything is just right and very relaxing. Really makes for a lovely stay.

This hotel is one of the few in Nice with it's own swimming pool. The pool is situated on the roof affording magnificent views over the city. The hotel is a short walk from the beach, where there is a private area reserved for guests. The staff are very freindly and helpful and the food is of a high standard.

This is a wonderful hotel not too far from the train station and too long of a walk from the heart of the action in Nice.

Helpful friendly staff and good facilities (pool/beach). Would go back but wouldn't bother with the Restaurant next time - nothing special and there are so many other good places to eat.
