Springfield Lodge Sydney

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, good value for the money paid. Clean and tidy room, not very noise-proof due to the timber floor but not too much of an issue.

We booked two rooms - 1 double and 1 single and were charged the same price for each room, however the single room was half a normal size. During the 4 days there were no rooms cleaned, no beds made, no soap or tea/coffee replaced. They did place new fresh towels on the unmade beds and walked out.

great hotel for the price no troubles outside only rooms were a bit noisy at night but the building is an older one and that is expected

Disappointed in this hotel. Very noisy. Could hear /feel people walking around in room above. Outside corridor very busy. Even cleaners and equipment were louder because of lack of sound insulation. It was not till about 2am when things seemed to quieten down. For the price, it wasn't worth it. I may have well have been in a backpacker hostel.

Great location and price close to every thing in the Cross. Train station is a 1 minute walk. Room was small but had a king size bed in it. Ther was no air con in our room

Pros: Small but clean. Pretty looking hotel. Refrigerator. Bring shampoo. Reminds me of a little European room. Behind the hotel are numerous shops and restaurants. Attractions all within walking distance. Cons: Right across from all the drug dealers. Just cross the square that the hotel is facing is a street where you can go to 20 or more raunchy strip clubs, after you first pass the drug addicts soliciting you of course. You will note the drug dealers/gang members living in the hotel buy the fact that they keep one pant leg up all the time. They can also easily be heard conducting business next to your room most of the night. It reminds me of Times Square before it was cleaned up.

The hotel had everything that I needed for my stay - Close to station, entertainment, food. Then there were the helpful staff, good value and finally peace.

Springfield Logde was the best place i've stayed in to date, whilst in either New Zealand or Australia. For the price is was just about right. The twin was clean & tidy , good size and lots of space. Downslide was the positioning of T.V + the confined small bathroom. Location was good but room 203 can be nosiy from the outside building/construction going on outside.But that apart, i'd stay there anytime.

Small room for a decent price in Sydney. The location is great since it is one stop or a short walk to the CBD, but King's Cross is a bit of a red light district. Lots of backpacker hotels nearby and this looked like a step up from them. No elevator but they were in the process of building one.

The location was great and price reasonable. However the staff were uninformed about restaurants, sights in the area and quite unprofessional at times.

It advertises itself as being in Potts Point, but it is in Kings Cross. But that's not a problem, we didn't know what all the fuss was about. The Springfield Lodge is a clean, basic, good value hotel. Access to botanic gardens, opera house, and circular quays area is excellent. Coles supermarket about 200 metres away, lots of bars and restaurants in Kings Cross and Potts point nearby. Desk staff helpful. We will be staying there again on our next trip to Sydney.

Good no-frills budget accommodation. I've got no complaints.

Rooms pretty small, but apart from that, good value I thought for AUD100.00 for a Saturday night. Right near the rough area of Kings Cross, so not for the faint hearted! Proximity to nightclubs etc and train station is ideal for younger people. For the best breakfast, go to nearby Sirocco Hotel. $19.50 for a full smorgasboard breakfast, magnificent.

The Lodge was still being renovated and redolent with paint smells and workmen. This meant the advantage of a brand new room and disadvantages of no telephone or availability of an iron and board. Three flights of stairs and no lift make it difficult for anyone who is not fit but it is a convenient location. Polished wooden floors will mean noise when fully occupied. No loading zone makes coming and going with luggage awkward but the street is relatively quiet.

Great value for money for accommodation of the type.

My Husband and I were very happy with this Lodge it was handy to all shops,train station etc. We only stayed 1 night but we would stay again when we are next in Sydney. The room was basic but it had all what we required and i would just like to add that i would use rates to go when we require to book a hotel etc again. Thanks very much.

Good locaion. Walking 10 mins to the Kings Cross station, but it's quiet. Room is clean and cheap.

l think the staff are extremely good and friendly, l have stayed there for four years running and as far as l am concerned l shall always choose here, so convenient.
