St Ives Motel Hobart

This is my choice of hotel from now onwards whenever I stay in Hobart. Finally a hotel that understands business travellers for a price that is real world. There are so many hotels that overcharge, they seem to forget many Australians are barely surviving. Breakfast was $3, what a bargain.

very good place to stay, close to everything in Hobart

The location was excellent. Battery Point is lovely and just a short (5min) walk to Salamanca Place to enjoy breakfast or the market. Other highlights were the room facilities, the minibar actually offered snacks and drinks at supermarket retail price which I thought was excellent (even though I didn't have a need for them). My only disappointment were the front end staff, who although were adequate, clearly would have preferred to be doing something else. A couple of smiles wouldn't have gone astray! :)

I travel to hobart frequently for business, I have always found St Ives to be excellent accomodation.Clean, Quiet and very comfortable. Its location is central to salamanca and Sandy Point. The only down side is that there is no restaurant facilities onsite but there are plenty options a short walk.

Great Motel, spotless white bed linen & towels, good facilities for cooking, great service, five mins from Salamanca market & Hobart city - you can easly walk, loads of parking & great price $107 per night. Need to make sure not to smoke or burn toast as the alarm comes on - had to evacute at 10pm as some people ended setting the alarm off - still great place to stay Mary & Anthony Grima Westleigh NSW Australia

Staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and our bedlinens are changed everyday. The bathroom is cleaned everyday also. Internet connection at the kiosk is good. It costs 5 cents/mb. The motel is a 5-10mins walk to Salamanca market and the pier. There are many restaurants to choose from at Salamanca Square. It is also close to Sandy Bay which has Coles and Woolworths as well as takeaway shops and restaurants. We would stay in this motel again next time we visit Hobart.

Room was comfortable. Service was good - staff were helpful and answered our questions happily. Reception arranged for taxi to pick us up and transport to destination - excellent taxi service - very well presented and polite driver. Motel located walking distance from wharfe area, but not in CBD.

We stayed at this hotel twice during our visit to Tasmania so, you can imagine that we were pleased with it. Reasonable location, reasonable price, very comfortable rooms and very clean. We would recommend it and would certainly use it again. The only adverse comment we would make is that the reception staff could have been a bit more helpful and cheery.

Motel is in a great location and the rooms are nice with everything you need available. Receptionist not the most welcoming though, didnt look at all happy to be there. Maybe just having a bad day I hope!

Recent update of self-contained apartments - now present very good value in an accessible location. Has free car parking is and a bottleshop next door.

I was really impressed with this motel, our room was fresh and clean with cooking facilities, in-room snacks at reasonable shop prices, plasma tv, balcony, heating. room servicing was great, came home to a tidy room each day. about 15mins walk from town centre. close to salamenca market.

Excellent room, far better than expected when hotel first seen.

Centrally located - close to town/sandy bay and battery point. On main bus route. In process of being refurbished but warm and comfortable. Good for smokers - have balconies!! Next door to bottle shop! All important things covered.

Old style motel converted to serviced apartment - no lift - difficult if on top floor and have bags!! However helpful staff, comfotable, great location and price.

Hotel is situated in historic Battery Point. A five minute walk to waterfront and Sandy Bay. With many restaurants close by. The city centre is within reasonable walking distance, about ten minutes. The hotel has excellent car parking facilities and friendly staff.
