Stamford Grand Hotel North Ryde

At check in we were spoken to by a man with an arabic name, we had to ask him to repeat himself a number of times as he spoke with a thick accent and indistinctly, then to the room, on entry it smelt very musty, which lingered throughout our stay, despite flinging open the windows. Also the curtains were torn badly and the bath chipped. Otherwise the room was good, but, don't plan to have breakfast or touch the Mini Bar as their prices were extortionate, $37,00 for a full breakfast and $5.00 for a 50c can of Coke. At least the rooms were cheap, but I suspect they planned to make up the profit on extras.Would we stay again, ? well yes but avoiding any extras and warn friends to stock up before staying

We've stayed here many times and will stay again. Comfortable, spacious rooms, nice swimming pool, and friendly staff.

Wonderful place to stay. Pleasant surroundings and delightful staff. Great food! Thoroughly recommended.

A very pleasant stay in comfortable, friendly surroundings. Room was very clean and comfortable. The pool and pond areas are exceptional - well equipped and beautifully maintained. On site free parking and close proximity to railway station and shopping centre a bonus. Only drawback was cost of dining - both room service and restaurants too costly for our family. However, overall a lovely place to stay.

Tired facilities, but good service and value. We stayed at the Stamford over the Christmas season for 9 nights. Hotel cleaning staff were really good and efficient The Green Option which reimburses $10 off your hotel bill each day you don't get your room serviced was great for longer stays - just record it as well, cause we found reception had not recorded all the calls we made to them to say we didn't need the room serviced. In room dining menu did not have enough average priced items, so was not great value for money. Gym was really good, pool was a bit tired - only one umbrella for all the sun lounges there. Christmas dinner buffet was excellent value. Food generally was good, but overpriced for what you got, and not a lot of healthy options - eg could not get a wholemeal bread roll with the soup. Still for the price, it was an excellent stay.

Nice and relaxing place to stay. Its got a nice pool. Rooms where ok and clean. Its about 20km from the city and getting there and back was a nighmare, i had to buy a "navman gps" so you can find your way back.

Excellent location near the Macquarie University train station. Good parking. Rooms were comfortable. Room service meals were not hot and restaurant breakfast was pretty hectic.

Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was very quiet and the facilities were very good. The location of the hotel is very convenient if your business is in the north and west of Sydney. Only downside was the strong smell of mould in the hallways.

Lift need to be maintained, only 1 lift on each floor.

I love this hotel. If you want to be anywhere near North Ryde, you gotta stay here.

a very clean establishment, very courteous and friendly staff makes a return visit a probability whhen we are in the area.

When booking this hotel I was aware of its distance from the CBD but did not expect such an unreliable train service to and from the City! The hotel itself had all the facilties for short stay and the rooms were clean. The bed was also very comfortable. I did feel the staff on the desk and concerige were lacking in customer service skills and were also very slow to serve everyone at the busier times of the day particularly when checking out. Overall ok.

Found hotel facilities excellent and staff very helpful. Easy drive from the eastern suburbs and parking a big bonus. Saturday room servicing not so good as soap and tea bags not replaced. Would definitely recommend hotel.

Great location for suburban Sydney. Hotel had a nice vibe but rooms could be updated. Staff extremely welcoming and professional. Breakfast at the restaurant was good. Dinner "grill night" was less impressive.
