Standard Design Hotel Paris

Hotel is clean, tidy and ideally situated. A great base for exploring Paris. Some of the rooms are a little small, but with so much to see and do on the doorstep you'll not be spending much time indoors anyway

Stayed last week for three nights. Hotel room was relatively large, warm and comfortable with bathroom inc bath and hairdryer. Ipod docking station and acess to wifi useful. Situated in a lively area, close to all amenities, however street far enough away to be quiet at night. Staff friendly and helpful. Useful to be able to leave luggage at hotel having vacated room. Taxi service to airport reasonable. Would thoroughly recommend and reserve again.

Rooms were good, clean and compact, location was brilliant. Would stay again.

Third stay at this small boutique hotel located in the convenient Bastille area and yet to be disappointed. Staff are unfailingly helpful and courteous. Rooms - decorated instriking black and white - are small but stylish. Highlight is the buffet breakfast. As long as you're not looking for extravangant luxury, but rather a comfortable and convenient base from which to explore Paris, you couldn't do better.

Traditional building which has been modernised to a good standard. Staff friendly and helpful. Black and white decor throughout . Good shower. The room was very small, we only just managed to squeeze between the bottom of the bed and the wall mounted dressing table. ( people of large proportions would have to request one of their bigger rooms, seriously ) Enjoyed our first visit to Paris. Would stay again in the Bastille area. Would be happy to stay at this hotel again but will probably try somewhere different.

Great room and breakfast.

This hotel has everything you need if you are looking for a clean, trendy, basic base to explore Paris. It was brand new when we went and although a little small had everything you needed. Nice shower, great decor, small flat screen TV (not that we watched it) & nice continental breakfast. It is close to some great bars and shopping too. I would say ideal for 18-37 year olds that don't want grand hotel lobbies and full english breakfasts but a good priced clean & modern quirky hotel.

The room was very nice and clean but tiny - literally could not swing a cat. There was scaffolding outside our window and the bathroom was lightly tinted so im sure the builders could see through - not ideal! Great design and nice breakfast. Good location too.

The room was quite noisy as windows didn't shut properly.

was good hotel. but some staff was very bad. (especially night shift) he forgot my request of wake-up call twice!!!

The design of this hotel as per the name is clean and uncluttered and thus, very restful. The bathrooms deserve a special thumbs up. The staff are polite and very helpful and , unusual for Paris, cheerful. During a heat wave the airconditioning was working and welcome. The breakfast is a treat with warm pastries and rolls and cold juice and hot coffee and tea.

Grat hotel, fantastic location, but watch out for the church bells at 8.00am & 9.15am every morning

Stylish hotel near Place de la Bastille, in a very cosmopolitan area. The hotel has small but stylishly designed rooms. A mini bar in the rooms would be an improvement.

This is our second visit to "Le Standard Design Hotel" and once again we were not disappointed! The staff are friendly and helpful regarding recommending restaurants etc. Not to be missed!

We were welcomed by friendly staff who offered assistance with regard to suggestions for good restaurants and best means of travel to particular places we wanted to visit. I have to say that this hotel is the best in its star grading and would recommend it to friends. It is contemporary, very clean and the toilettries supplied were better quality than we have experienced in our many trips to this wonderful city. The location is in our favourite district of Paris. Thank you for a most memorable stay.

Staff very pleasant; hotel conveniently located 5 mins from Bastille métro. Rooms basic but clean and comfortable.

Very reasonably priced, clean, and for me, a very suitable location

Only thing to note is that the hotel is actually called Villa Sofia Bastille, so you could miss it if you aren't careful.

No lift - didn't bother me but could be difficult for some people. Staff I encountered had better English than at 2 other hotels I have stayed in and were friendly and pleasant. Some tiles were missing in the bathroom and an unpleasant smell came through this hole. I assume that it will be fixed soon.
