It all began with the reconstruciotn of an old farmhouse within the heart of the Pielachtal (the valley of the Pielach river). There was the aim of combining the comfort of the good old times with modern comfort.
With a lot of wooden elements and lovely details the hotel is able to stick to their own Steinschaler style.
Rooms are equipped with solid wood furniture. Naturally, they all have a shower (partly bath and whirlpool) and WC, TV with SAT-receiver, telephone. Nearly all of them have highspeed internet access.
The restaurant specialises in regional delicacies. The new Steinschaler cuisine both offers healty nutrition as well as traditional food from the Dirndltal and the Mostviertel. |

Arrival from Vienna or Salzburg:
If travelling by car you can best reach the hotel via the highway A1
Exit St. Pölten - Süd (km 58),
To the right (B20 - direction Lilienfeld).
At 2nd traffic light (crossing in Spratzern) to the right into direction of the Pielachtal - (B39) direction Obergrafendorf - Kirchberg.
Follow the B39 appr. 20 km until reaching Warth (appr. 3 km after Rabenstein, but appr. 2 km before Kirchberg), turn left at the only crossing in Warth just after the train station.
Just afer turning you can see an oval green sign: Steinschalerhof. The entry is just next to the sign.
Arrival with the Mariazellerbahn:
From Vienna Westbahnhof you take the train to St. Pölten. There you switch into the narrow gauge railway the Mariazellerbahn until station Steinschal - Tradigist.
After getting out of the train you walk 115 m into the direction of the train heading Mariazell. Then turn right and reach the hotel front office entrance after 60 m. You will walk about 2-3 min |
