Apartment is in a great location, only minutes from the River Seine, St-Michel metro and RER station. However on arrival, no one was there to meet us with the keys, even though we had telephoned prior to our arrival to make arrangements. After another phone call and an hour's wait someone arrived with the keys but told us that the flat had not yet been cleaned, so we left our luggage and vacated the apartment to allow the cleaner access. This studio offers more space than the average city hotel room, but the fittings are very basic. The bathroom is very small and beware of the 'moving' basin bowl and sink cabinet which is not fitted to the wall. We had a small flood when the U pipe became disconnected. It was difficult to soak up the water, as only two bath towels were provided. Overall the studio was functional and for the bargain price of 65 euros per night it was good value. However I would not have been happy if I had paid the full price and would not rate it as three stars.
The apartment was in an excellent position, very close to the metro and many restaurants/cafes. Balcony was small but we used it a few times to watch the happenings below. It was a little run down and we only saw the owner once, at check-in. Washing machine was unusable as it bounced all over the floor and disturbed the other tenants in the building - we even had people banging on our door telling us to turn it off and were too scared to use it a second time. I don't think we would use the apartment again as we ate out all the time and didn't really need the kitchen. Will probably use a hotel in the same area next time.
It was in a very good location, however, at the allocated time when we went to collect key and find out where facilities were etc, no-one was there to meet us and we were kept hanging around. Finally some random woman gave my husband the keys, but on entering the rooms (one double and one triple) we found only two raggy towels in each bathroom, no tea towels although it had self catering facilities, no toiletries and several appliances were not working. [Website] had advertised it as having a gym and swimming pool, we had no idea how to find these and of course had no one to speak to about pillows/pillow cases or towels. Whilst these are fairly minor problems they are annoying when away from home and all comforts. The area was super with loads of atmosphere and restaurants to choose from with lots of fixed price menus which were great.
There is no reception desk. There is nobody available to discuss problems. There was no place to leave baggage in advance or after checking out if flight times do not correspond exactly with the checkin and checkout hours. You MUST be sure to get the door code from [site Internet] with your reservation, and the phone number to call to learn how to get the keys.
1. Double Bed far too small for a couple - extremely uncomfortable 2. Shower screen was very difficult to negotiate due to not moving correctly on hinges. Needs to be fixed 3. Hot water in shower ran out within 5-6 min - unacceptable 4. No bathroom mat and when floor is slightly wet was extremely slippery 5. The TV only has french speaking channels, not one English speaking channel could be accessed, again unacceptable. 6. Unable to do any washing for 4 days due to washing machine not working - again quite unacceptable 6. Stairs and hallway walls are very dirty. 7. Location of the apartment was 'sensational' 8. Security was excellent
Access arrangements were not communicated prior to arrival, resulting in having to contact owner on arrival for access combination and keys. Owner arrived 40 mins after contacted, during which time we would have been left stranded on the street, other than access to lobby was possible with tenants exiting building. Excellent location and comparable price. Apartment was comfortable enough.
We stayed in the apartment for 4 which consisted of a double bed and a sofabed, small dining table and kitchen in one room. The Apartment was dated but functional however the location was excellent. Close to the metro, plenty of well priced restaurants and supermarkets, bakeries etc. If you are looking for a good base to explore Paris at a reasonable price this is a good choice. If you are looking for luxury accomodation then best look elsewhere.
The owner was very nice, and met us when it suited us after our arrival in Paris. The apartment was a decent size (bigger than any hotel room you would get in Paris for the price) and modestly decorated. The location was perfect, in the middle of the Latin Quarter, very near to sights like the Notre Dame Cathedral and the River Seine, and with countless restaurants and cafes nearby. However this was more than made up for by the fact that the owner let us checkout at 7pm instead of midday so that we wouldn't have to drag our baggage around with us all day since our flight wasn't until 11pm. We really appreciated that. All in all, the studio apartments are a good option for those who want to be in the middle of the action for a very reasonable rate. I would definitely recommend the apartments to a friend.
We stayed in the 5th floor apartment. Kitchen and bathroom are clean. Service is very low-key and laid-back, so no problems with early check-in and late check-out.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location and very central.
