Sugar Palm Resort & Spa Phuket

Sugar Palm is in a great location of Kata, as soon as you are out of the hotel to your left and to your right are lots of bars /cafes /restaurants /massage etc. And immediately ahead of you (1 min walk max) is the beach right where the sunbeds are. The staff is helpful. The room service food was quite good. We got ripped off on the breakfast on our very first day - we were charged something like 300B per person and it was near the end of breadkfast so most of the food was running out and the chef who cooks eggs on the spot for you was not there - but they still charged us full price. Lots of Russians at that hotel - quite inconsiderate late at night singing and yelling down the passage ways. Very happy with the value for money and would stay again. If you are the fussy type you may not like it as much bc of minor details which could be better, but its not a 5 star and you get what you pay for which was more than fine for me.

It was a good experience at a very affordable price! We stayed at Sugar Palm Resort & Spa from 19th to 22nd July 2010. The room we booked was the one with pool access and you can jump straight into the pool right from your balcony. The only negative thing about pool access rooms is probably its low-level which brings in quite a bit of mosquitoes. We bought mosquito coils to burn everytime we're in the room just to ward off those mozzies. Mozzies aside, the resort is really worth the stay. There is the pool, sauna, spa, free wifi, internet surfing area with lounge, and very friendly hotel staffs. On top of that, the hotel provided luggage storeroom and shower facilities (complete with towels and foams) hence we could return to have a shower even after we check out of the hotel. A small gesture but a very thoughtful one, for people like us who have a late night flight to catch! Will definitely return here for more!

We love this place as it is quiet, clean and has nice decor. The service was good too except for a lady who found hard to smile. Overall, this is one of the hotels we would love to stay at again.

Very nice hotel within 5 minutes from the beach. Kata Beach has high tourist density and plenty of shops and services around. Good restaurants and cheap massages all over. However, there were some people trying to hard sell holiday packages right outside the hotel and irritated the life out of us.

The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the south part of Kata Beach and right in the middle of the south Kata commercial area. Overall its a nice hotel albeit getting a little rough around the edges. Breakfast was fine with plenty of choices. Hotel staff service was adequate without being over friendly (but not rude either). We enjoyed our 6 day stay and would stay here again.

Pool area very small but hotel is only a few minutes walk from the beach.

My original idea was to stay here for only 2 days but already after 1 day I just HAD to extend my stay. After 3 nights I asked for 5 more days. I'm now in a superior room for two nights, before I move back to the deluxe-wing. Deluxe rooms are more quiet, have bathtubs, bigger balcony, elevator + pool view. Pay even more & you'll get pool access. Just open the balcony, take one step and you're in the pool. Great value for money, new hotel, very nice rooms, lots of tv-channels, comfortable beds, safe, big balcony, wireless internet etc. Also, and this is important, the deluxe wing is in a "dead end" so no traffic here and that is great if you want to zzzzzz. Great price (paid about 3.000 baht/night) and nice and helpful staff. Very close to the Kata Beach (150 meters or so) and to the best restaurant in Kata: Two Chefs. If they turn up the water temperature in the pool and add something else to put on the sandwishes (other than jam...) I will give the hotel 5+. =)

A good find after searching the net for a decent but fair priced hotel in Phuket away from the party scene. The room was excellent: clean, crisp sheets and spacious bathroom. Well worth travelling to and from the mid-northern part of the island where I needed to be during my time at Phuket. Nightmarket and al fresco restaurants were handy too. Safe area even for those travelling on their own.

i have stayed in many hotels throughout the world but this hotel without doubt offers the best value for money.ideally located at in the heart of kata beach.our room was modern spacious and very clean.our private balcony afforded a great view of the local market area.staff were very helpful and friendly.the complementary breakfast was world class.go there.
