Sun & Moon Hostal Barcelona

"It is definitely a better than expected hostel. (It is our first hostel experience).We stayed in a private room (Double room), the room is actually bigger than the hotels we have stayed in a few other places. No need to rent blanket or towers, they are changed everyday, the room is very clean, staff are helpful, everyone at the reception speaks some English, and are willing to help at any time, we are quite surprised to find this out after read some of the bad reviews left by other travellers stayed in this hostel before. The location is just excellent, in easy reach of city centre and plaza. The speed of free internet is great, they have upgraded their PCs, 4 new PCs with internet is a brilliant idea, we did our flight online check in the night before we check out of the hostel, so convenient. We highly recommend this hostel, will definitely stay again next time we go to Barcelona." - Xiao Xiao Li

"Have just stayed at the hostel Dec 29, 2007 - was very pleased with the location, cleanliness and the size of the room and ensuite bathroom of the hostel. Had originally booked bunk beds and later upgraded to the double room (EUR 85 per night) - located directly opp the reception area. The only con - no elevators, so if you are carrying huge luggages, consider the dorm instead. If you don't have an issue with that, this would be a great accommodation, in the heart of La Rambla, within walking distance to Placa Catalunya, gothic quarter etc. Highly Recommended~" - Judy Goh

"Our stay at the Sun & Moon was great. Fantastic location. The hostel was simple and adequate. The rooms were very clean and there was a bathroom in the 8 bed dorm room which was great to have. The beds were very comfy, the lockers a good size, the water saver showers were a great idea. The staff were very friendly and were helpful when we needed it. "Free internet is old equipment but okay. Towels and bedsheets have to be paid extra and in only cash. Lockers need a 2€ coin which is returned after reopening. The hostel has been renovated recently, making it very hospitable. Breakfast is slices of (bad industrial) toast, jam and butter with tea or coffee and cornflakes with milk. Vending machines for drinks and snacks in the lobby. Staff is friendly and nice. E-mail response is slow (up to one day) but proper in content. " - Daniel Piano
