Opened in December 2001, Sunset Island is an elegant Mediterranean design holiday resort on a quiet street, only a short walk to the beach and Cavill Mall in the heart of Surfers Paradise. The modern one and two bedroom apartments and tri-level two bedroom penthouse apartments are all air conditioned and have private balconies. Fully self contained and serviced weekly, each apartment has a washing machine and dryer, and a modern kitchen with granite benches and full amenities including a dishwasher. Resort facilities include swimming pool and spa, barbeque area, tropical landscaped gardens, undercover security parking and tour desk. PLEASE NOTE credit card details are required on check-in. Sunset Island Resort does not have the relevant policies and procedures in place for "Schoolies Festival" bookings. No cancellations accepted – full payment required once booked.

Getting there:From Gold Coast Airport: 25 minute drive. Shuttles, taxis, limousines, car hire & buses available at the airport. Head north on the Gold Coast Highway. Go past Jupiters Casino & you will soon be on a one-way system. At the 3rd set of lights turn left onto Peninsular Drive. Go straight through the roundabout, and Sunset Island Resort is on the corner of Peninsular Drive and Sunset Blvd. From Brisbane Airport: 1¼ hour drive. Tourist shuttles, taxis, Airtrain, limousines &car hire available at the airport. Head south on the Gateway & Pacific Motorways. (Note: toll bridge). Take Smith St exit to the end. Turn right onto the Gold Coast Highway. When you see signs to Surfers Paradise (straight ahead) and signs to Broadbeach (right), turn right. Take the first left. Pass the turn-off to Chevron Island, and take the next turn right on to Peninsular Drive. Go straight through the roundabout, and Sunset Island Resort is on the corner of Peninsular Drive and Sunset Blvd.
Check-in Procedure:Check in is from 2pm. If you are arriving on the day you booked, please contact reception to ensure that your booking has been received. Office hours 9am - 5pm weekdays, 9am - 12pm weekends. Late check in - dial 9 on handset at entrance and our night service will answer.
Car parking:Free underground carpark with key access - keypad on slope at entry.
Child Policy:When booking please indicate total number of guests and whether your requirements are for a double or twin (twin configuration is using sofabed). All rates are based on 2 guests in a one bedroom apartment and 4 guests in a two bedroom apartment (including penthouse). Extra person charges are $30 per person per night payable on arrival. Cot hire available - charges apply.

the unit was OK good layout and fit the description. There was mould in shower cubicle, behind the taps in the bathroom sink and behind the taps in the kitchen. A bit of mould remover would have gotten rid of all of this. Otherwise it was great.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We found the motel to be handy to entertainment, dining and the shopping centre. There was no need for us to use our car while staying at this location. Cant wait to visit again, maybe in the warmer months, so we can use the pool and barbeque areas!!!
It is a good place to stay especially for family or groups of friends. A great accomodation if seeking for budget and convenience. Would recommend to family and friends.
Great place to stay only a short walk (8min) to the centre of Surfers Paradise. Nice and quiet location very nice apartment with comfy bed. Pool is nice but not big. Would definatley stay here again.

Great well equiped and roomy apartment, great price (via ratestogo), 5-10 min walk to Surfers, secured parking. Will definitely keep in mind for the future.
location was great but having booked two rooms for 4 adults and three children and then to find only two towels in each room was a little disappointing. Not only that but were charged an extra $30 for an 18month old which was a little surprising condisering we had our own bedding for that child. Personally I would not stay there again.
we stayed in the 1 bedroom appt and found it to be excellent,good size and great kitchen facilities.5-10 min walk to surfers was a bonus as well.overall was a nice place to stay and would recommend to anyone
although the resort offers complimentary tea & coffee it would be nice to have some milk to go with it, especially after a long journey.
Its a very clean place , bit of a walk to the becah though. You have to bring the coffee and other stuff your self, they only provide coffee/tea for one day only.
The Penthouse unit is very spacious but is definitely in need of refurbishments. A bit Tacky!
The only negative thing I could find about the Sunset Island Resort is that there was no radio or cd player for music. Not over generous with the sugar and coffee etc. However all over good experience.
Very lovely apartment. A little far from beach. Service once if you stay 8 days longer, it's not very convenient.
Walked into the apartment, already have a great homely feel. I was amazed at the self catering kitchen...its really good. Close to the heart of Surfers Paradise and yet have a quite relaxing environment. Would love to stay there again.
Roomy service apartment equipped with full kitchen, laundry in bathroom, lounge room. 15-20 min walk to Surfer's main street. Secure car park.
The managers were very helpful.
Staff was plesant. Airconditioning system did not work. No DVD/CD player as you would expect. Springs missing in fold out bed - very uncomfortable, also no pillows for bed. Bed room one bed very unconfortable. It was fine for cheap rates but would be very dissapointed if had to pay full price.
It was such an awesome place. we had a 2 bedroom overlooking the pool area and at night it was beautiful. Wasn't expecting much for the price we paid but we were very happy with it! Will definetly stay there again no doubt!!!
Nice little resort apartment out of the hustle and bustle yet quite central to everything!
