Sunset Resort is idyllically situated on the sheltered western side of the island only minutes from Avarua township. The secluded beachfront location provides guests with an unspoilt view of Rarotongas crystal clear aqua blue lagoon and breathtaking sunsets. The Resort offers 35 spacious rooms situated either on the beachfront over looking the lagoon or beside either of our two swimming pools set amid lush tropical gardens. A wide variety of room types allow us to accommodate the needs of singles, couples, families or groups. The luxury accommodation and lush gardens are only a taste of what the resort will offer. Dine at our open-air restaurant 'The Anchorage' open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or enjoy Happy Hour cocktails at our poolside bar 'Drumbeat'. Relax on the beautiful white sandy beach overlooking the lagoon or swim and snorkel amongst the colourful fish over the coral reef. Getting there:A short 5 minute drive from the airport. We also offer our own return airport transfer service which will see you greeted at the airport with a traditional flower 'ei' greeting by one of our friendly staff. You will be personally escorted to your room on arrival at the Resort. This service carries a cost of $30 per person return or $15.00 per person one way.

We stayed in both beachfront unit (well appointed) and a poolside unit (not as well sited but still OK). The hotel is on the sheltered side of Raro, near to the airport and town and has several good restaurants within walking distance. Generally fairly good value with no complaints.
The rooms were spacious, comfortable and modern and the hotel is quiet with a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The beach is beautiful and the food at the restaurant was very good. We had a wonderful week at the Sunset Resort and would recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all and relax.
The Poolside/Garden Studio is a spacious self contained unit. The studio contains a fridge/freezer, microwave and 2 burner cook-top. Each unit has a king bed / twin singles, an in-room safe, TV, CD/DVD player and IDD phone. The bathroom amenities include shower, toilet, hairdryer, clothes line and beach towels. The hotel is not ideally situated - being several miles from the main town and not near any shops. However it is on a bus route. Transport was provided from the airport to the hotel but this was overpriced. The beach is rocky. The rooms are well equipped, clean and comfortable with air conditioning.
Enjoyable stay at a nice resort. Great pool!
