Swallow Station Hotel Ayr Guest Reviews

3.2 out of 5

i have stayed in this hotel previously and had always had good service, unfortunately i can not say the same for it this time. the quality and quantity of the breakfast was poor as were the standards of the bedroom: curtains hanging of track, tie back holders falling out of wall and the bed was so bad my hasband was not even going to stay for the 2nd night.

4.2 out of 5

Reception staff very friendly and efficient. Room was a good size but the bathroom didnt have a fitted shower which was a bit of an inconvenience. A few of the waiting staff were very sullen. Great location. Overall, i would stay at this hotel again if i am back in Ayr.

Interesting hotel spanning the railway line at Ayr station. It has a strong atmosphere of the Victorian era in which it was built. On our side of the hotel we could hear the trains, but the noise was not excessive. We found it to be perfectly adequate for our three night stay, and based on this visit would be happy to stay there again.

Excellent location in town centre. Old world charm with good facilities. Staff very pleasant. Background music in breakfast room dreadful unless you are a punk rocker! I recommend it.
