"A fabulously gracious building with beautiful in keeping interior decor of common areas and rooms. The river location is wonderful and with tea terraces which overlook the river the ambience is great. The complimentary parking is a great plus - some city centre hotels charge upto £15 for overnight parking and that's with discounts - the ready availability of free parking at the Bedford Swan Hotel makes room prices even more competively priced. Be advised that river view rooms are at a premium and need to specifically be requested. An enjoyable comfortable stay, with modern but tasteful rooms - although the bathroom was a little dated - bathroom lighting was dim and the fixtures a little dated in styling, courteous and helpful staff. Add to that a stylish, bar, pool and jacuzzi and I can't help but recommend highly. " - Tony Roberts

Getting there: From M25:

Exit at the M1 (Junction 21 of the M25) North to junction 13: follow the A421 to Bedford, then A6 and signs to town center. Once you have crossed the River Ouse, the hotel is immediately on your right. Follow the one-way system round the square and turn left down the Embankment – hotel car park is 100 yards.
Follow the M6 to the M1 and continue South to Junction 13. From M1 junction 13: follow the A421 to Bedford, then A6 and signs to town center. Once you have crossed the River Ouse, the hotel is immediately on your right. Follow the one-way system round the square and turn left down the Embankment– the hotel car park is 100 yards.

From A1: follow A428 to Bedford. On reaching the town turn left at the traffic lights signposted for M1 south go over the roundabout then exit at the 1st right down ‘Embankment’. The hotel car park is 1 mile on the right.

Car parking: The hotel has car parking for 80 cars on a first come first served basis.
Child Policy: Children under the age of 16 stay for free when
sharing a room with 2 adults (maximum one child per
adult) subject to availability. All meals consumed by
children are chargeable at 50% of the adult price or
the full price if chosen from the children’s menu. Children occupying their own room are charged at
50% of the adult price, on the same board basis as the
adults, and are entitled to choose children’s portions
from the adult menu or dishes from the children’s menu.
