"Good location. Spacious and well appointed bedroom with sitting room. Comfy bed, good bathroom with shower and bath, very important to me. Secure parking. Very friendly and helpful staff, good coffee from the coffee shop in the lobby. Quiet room on side street. Very good breakfast. Try the reflexology in the day spa! " - Katrina Owen
"A nice hotel at conveniant location, both close to the beach and in easy access of Sydney CBD. The service was not up to par, but they offered compensation for this (upgrade)." - Mats Westerberg
"We booked a seaview room which certainly gave us a view of the sea but only a glimpse of the the beach. A busy road and buildings blocked the beach view. Late into the night there was considerable noise and loud music from the terrace along the frount of the hotel. This area was operated independantly from the hotel. Therefore we concluded that the room tarriff was rather overpriced. Comfortable but in need of a spruce up.
Staff were pleasant and helpful. Lobby "old world" and inviting as were the indoor bar and restaurant. Good food.
May consider staying at the hotel again but certainly wouldn't bother with a seaview !!" - Peter Moody
"We booked this for four days of R & R after a strenuous 30 day tour of Australia but it was a big mistake and we should have returned to the city.
The hotel has an old-fashioned grandeur and our suite was comfortable and clean. It was the best hotel in Bondi Beach but there was no competition.
We paid extra for a seaview suite but the view was partially obscured by a somewhat ugly building there was a very busy road outside with some traffic noise all night but very noisy from 5-30 am. The pleasant decking area at the front of the hotel proved not to be part of the hotel and played rap music until very late. Consequently sleep proved elusive. We were probably unlucky in that our part of the roof area was covered with gravel and there was the crunch crunch as people walked about on it. The only outside space was on the roof which had a small pool 1 metre deep.
Considering the hype, the Bondi Beach area was a big disappointment. I would stay in the city and just have a day's visit. " - Anonymous
