Sydney Beachouse Backpackers YHA is a popular beachside hostel offering deluxe accommodation in Sydney. We are rated * * * * (4 stars) by AAA tourism for backpacker facilities. We are located at Collaroy Beach, right in the middle of Sydneys spectacular Northern Beaches, where the lifestyle is the envy of most Australians. Our facilities, which include dorm rooms and private twin, double and family rooms cater to backpackers, students, couples and families on a budget. For your entertainment: We have a solar heated swimming pool with BBQ area, TV room and separate video room, games room with pool table, ping pong table and arcade games. We also offer free bike, surf board and body board hire. For your convenience: Tours and travel information is available and many job listings too. Cafes / restaurants, surf shops, post office, cinema and convenience stores are no more than a two minute walk from us. For your comfort: Your comfort is our priority and therefore we offer free cutlery, linen with doonas / duvets and air conditioning. We offer private double, twin and family (with ensuite) rooms too.

Getting there:FROM SYDNEY AIRPORT: Shuttle buses running from airport MUST BE PRE BOOKED Beachside Shuttle 02 9982 2757 FROM SYDNEY (CITY) BY BUS: Bus Number L90 (Palm Beach) from Railway Sq at Central Or Wynyard Station other bus numbers 188 or 151. Get off bus at Collaroy Beach main stop and walk to the traffic light where you will find yourself on the corner of Collaroy Street. BY FERRY OR JETCAT Catch the ferry or jetcat from Circular Quay to Manly. Ferries and Jetcats run from 6.00am to midnight. From Manly catch the 151, 155 or 157 buses. FROM MANLY BY BUS: Catch the 151, 155 or 157 buses at Manly Wharf. Get off all buses at Collaroy beach shops. Buses run all day and night.
Check-in Procedure:Reception closed on Christmas Day so please do not make a booking to check in or out on the 25/12/10. Please present photo ID upon arrival. If you arrive after reception has closed, please follow the instructions on the front door to find the Night Manager. He will check you in and take you to your room.
Car parking:We have FREE secure car parking available. We cannot guarntee car spaces as this service is provided on a first come first serve basis.

It was very comfortable. My kids thought it was fantastic, but usually camp!!! The $2 continental breakfast is a bargain. Very pleased.
When I booked I had not realized this was a youth hostel. I wanted to be close to a good surf beach and I was. The beach is over the road. There is also a good secure carpark free on the premises. My room contained a bunk with double bed below and a single above. The mes showers were down the hallway. They were clean and adequate. The kitchen was communal and quite a social centre. The hallways are noisy at night due to the many young backpackers. I slept well but when I went out at 6 am to check the surf, I found that a belligerent guest had kicked in the glass surround of the hotel front door. Despite the above I liked the place. The young guys who were the night staff were frankly the bestI have ever encountered. They answered all my questions and gave me a full tour. I did sleep well, the surf was just over the road, the bed and bathroom were clean. If you want a surfing holiday and you are happy to be around noisy and mostly well behaved young people, give it a try!

Good place to stay and the people are friendly.
This is a youth hostel extraordinaire! The manager was fabulous. They had good internet facilities and we were able to use our wireless. Surfboards were avalaible at no charge. We were travelling with our daughter and were very safe and there were other families at the hostel. We loved it so much we stayed a week longer than originally planned.

Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for budget accomodation.
I haven't been to many youth hostels but if this one is typical then I will be going to more. Great value for money. Excellent lounge room and pool area. Would definitely stay here again.
