from the minute we checked in to the minute we checked out, our stay at the hotel was really 5 star.we had the best sydney views.everything we wanted to see was walking distance, the kids absolutley enjoyed the pool on the 23rd floor with an even more amazing view of the city.this is the hotel we're staying in next time we visit sydney.we all enjoyed it thank you hotel Marriott for a fantastic experience!
Very accomodating for kids & family. A Christmas themed lolly bar in the lounge area of lobby created that special touch. surprised to find microwave in room making heating of baby bottles easy. However housekeeping needs improving. Mould on bathroom ceiling was not expected of a 5 star hotel, nor was the week old apple I found under one of the beds. Good to see the Marriott plans to renovate on display, the rooms are in need of refurbishment.
Well below what I would expect from a Marriott - broken air conditioner (shivered all night), very poor quality food in the restaurant and staff very unresponsive to simple requests. Avoid!
No coffee in roomn or in lobby, that stinks! Good olocation, cabs outside at all times.
The twin bed room at this hotel is very good for the accommodation of the family with children like us. Besides, the location of this hotel is the best for the sightseeing by walk at the sydney central city becasues of its vicinity of circular quay and Darling harbor. Anyway, Marriott hotel is better place for the short stay in Sydney than expected and I'd like to recommend many travelers in Sydney this hotel..
Average Hotel considering it's MARRIOT. I expected more for $220. per night. Staff efficient and pleasant. We were able to access our room on arrival at 9am which was great as we were from interstate. Good location to everything as we like to walk.
We booked our accommodation through Hotel Club and asked for an accessible room for our adult son who is in a wheel chair. We were advised after the booking was made that this was available to us. Upon arrival at the hotel they advised us that all accessible rooms were taken and none were available. We stayed in a nice room with a pull out sofa bed, however my son wanted to have a shower in the morning. The hotel did inform us that they could provide a plastic chair for him, however there was no way that he could step over the bathroom ledge to even attempt in having a shower, let alone sit on the chair. It is obvious that the hotel did double up in bookings for a wheel chair accessible room and we were very upset about the situation.
Excellent stay rooms modern clean and lovely Hyde Park Views
when we arrived at the hotel the room was not ready they were running 45 minutes late then down graded to another room that was not suitable waited another 20 minutes then informed we would be put in an executive room where there was 1 only king size bed remembering 4 yes 4 19 year old girls were booked in for the night.would we stay there again not likely, also the lady in service could do with some customer service lessons.
Overall a good deal for a quick holiday in Sydney. The Hotel is well located with easy access to most public transport. My impression was that the hotel was getting a little dated but having said that I must say that everything worked well. Comfortable bed - plenty of hot water. I had a view of Hyde Park - very pleasant - windows are double glazed - so nice and quiet. I pay my compliments to the service staff who asked for my room key when I walked in whilst they were making up the room - well done - top marks for security. Hotel is to be recommended and would stay there again - provided they have a [this website] discount offer - otherwise a bit pricy.
Stayed in executive room. Only disadvantage was that wireless/internet access was not free (had own laptop). Breakfast included. Was happy (overall).
Reasonably priced for accommodation in the heart of the action at Sydney Festival opening night. Some maintenance / renewal required on gymnasium (no a/c) and sauna (not working).
I really liked the Marriott, the location was close to everything and the room was lovely I would stay again.
The position is excellent and the rate reasonable given this. Free internet would make it even better
Getting to the hotel is very easy and there are parking facilities underneath the hotel. The only issue we had was the fact that the room was two double beds ( a little small) and only two towels for a possible four people.
without a shadow of a doubt the Marriott Hotels have the most comfortable and blissfull mattress, they are superb.
thank you for an enjoyable stay. Staff very friendly
It took 2 phone calls and 3.5 hours to have a broken kettle replaced so that we could make coffee when we arrived to our room. The bed visibly sagged - very uncomfortable, and this was on the Club Floor! Breakfast supplies were short although the staff tried to keep up there weren't enough of them.
While this hotel is nicely positioned between Oxford St and the city's central shopping precinct, the rooms are dated, noisy and overpriced - certainly not worthy of a 5 star rating. The restaurant food was extremely disappointing, in fact the only redeeming feature this hotel has to offer was the terrific service provided by the front desk staff. My recoomendation? Avoid, there are better options for the money.
was not happy that i was not informed prior to booking that the spa facilities were not available i specifically booked a hotel with a spa to enjoy with my girlfriends. Otherwise i was happy with the service.
