Tailors Hall is the perfect location for both business & pleasure, ideally located in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, from this prime location in the Cowgate it is a mere 3 minute walk to the centre of The Royal mile & many of Edinburgh's most famous landmarks. Originally built in 1621 for The Guild of Tailors the building was lovingly restored and modernised in 1998 to provide Tailors Hall Hotel, a smooth blend of true Scottish history & modern convenience. The hotel comprises 42 well appointed bedrooms of a 3* standard, but even here the buildings heritage is never far away with numerous original features & photographs linking back through the years. In the morning a full Scottish & continental style breakfast selection is available in the first floor breakfast area, a truly original space boasting stone vaulted ceilings & cast iron supporting pillars, providing an inspiring start to any day in Edinburgh. On the ground floor is The 3 Sisters bar, world famous for its lively character & themed events! Open daily from 9am to 1am The 3 Sisters is as synonymous with Edinburgh as Princes Street or the Military Tattoo. A very unique feature for the area is the expansive cobbled courtyard to the front of the hotel, perfect for catching the sun during summer & with covered & heated seating areas just as enjoyable during the winter months. The bar & courtyard can however result in noise affecting some rooms overlooking the courtyard, especially at weekends.

Found hotel was good value all round. Location very central if hard to reach on foot due to steps (with bags etc) Extra service of being able to leave bag over weekend whilst away was appreciated.
The location of the hotel is perfect and coulnd't be better. Unfortunately, that's the only good thing. The carpet and the wall paper in the room were missing in some places. We also had ants in the room. We wouldn't recommend this hotel.
Single room with ensuite facilities, modern decor and facilities of a 3 star standard.
Twin room with ensuite facilities, modern decor and facilities of a 3 star standard.
Double room with ensuite facilities, modern decor and facilities of a 3 star standard.
Great location close to the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket. Our room was on the right hand side of the beer garden and to get there you had to climb up some stairs which seemed quite dirty and covered in split alcohol. The bed was very uncomfortable with springs sticking into me. However, the hotel was reasonably prices (for Edinburgh) and location excellent.
Went to Edinburgh for Fringe. This hotel is ideally situated a few meters from the Royal Mile/Waverly station. It had a excellent sports-bar, The Three Sisters, and the room was clean and nicely presented. My only real issues were that breakfast is NOT included on any of their rates, most hotels these days include at least a continental breakfast and there was no coffee in the room, only tea. I would happily stay there again if they included these.
Bathroom equipment could be better.
ideal for edinburgh centre and the festival
very nice hotel with very friendly staff and a good location i would stay there again.
Hotel was in a good location and did the job for a one nite stay but I would not recommend for a several nite stay, facilities are basic and the breakfast air was more like canteen although the buffet breakfast was very enjoyable! if you are goin for a nite out in edinburgh and you are just looking for a place to get your head down in a central location this hotel is great. It is also quite well priced by edinburgh standards.
Excellent location, close to Royal mile, a bit noisy for elderly people
The location was perfect for restaurants and nightlife and the sites. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. And I don't know where the complaints about noise are coming from.
Located just south of the royal mile and a few minutes from Edinburgh Castle. The hotel pub open till 01.00. Good hotel for a citytrip to Edinburgh.
Exceptional service from Stewart on Reception. Rooms warm/tidy but tend to be a bit noisy at night. Breakfast disappointing. Staff verry good
Although the bars and music were obviously very popular they were not our taste in music (age range 30-60) had there been a room with a good mix of music where you could have a dance eg: the Loft we would have come back to the hotel for a good boogie each night.
The staff members was very nice and helpfull, I would stay there again!!!
As the hotel has a large nightclub/outdoor bar area, it is noisy until the early hours of the morning. It is more suited to young revellers, i.e. hen/stag parties than families or couples looking for a relaxing break. The bedrooms are comfortable and well equipped but the breakfast room is basic and the decor and carpets could do with being replaced. value for money if you can live with the noise.
Very helpful staff. It was noisy (next to a busy pub) but I did know that in advance. Receptionist offered to change my room if ot was too noisy.
A budget hotel, but brilliant for the position in Edinburgh and the pricing.
Very near to Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle, 3 Sisters Hotel adjoining and convenient and pleasant for dinner, especially as no need to walk home afterwards. Rooms clean and warm.
Simple, basic facilities at very reasonable price. The hotel is located in Cowgate, close to the centre of Edinburgh but in a slightly seedy area that is not well lit.
Great location of this hotel, the pricing is also good. The only thing i can complain about was the bathroom, it was not very clean and fresh. Good breakfast.
