Tanoa Aspen Hotel Queenstown Guest Reviews

4 out of 5

Pretty old hotel but clean and well maintained. Quite far away from town, you need a car to get around. Big rooms located up in the mountain. Excellent value considering the price we paid

We could hardly believe that we had got such a great room at this price - especially in Queenstown. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. So very grateful for how incredibly perfect it all was in context to what we have experienced in the past with Hotels and Motels and bed comfort etc..... Totally satisfied.

It is about 20 min walk to town with a very big uphill so it is not the best for the winter. Having a car helps. The hotel itself has a good restaurant and the rooms have nice beds and overall has good value for the price.

Hotel is located with a great view of Queenstown from mountains in a quiter hilly area. Peacefull surroundings comparted to busy city centre which is only 5 minitues drive or 20 minutes walk. Staff was helpfull and the resturant is reasonably priced. If you want food, don't waste time and money going to the expensive restuarants in the city as this place offers the same food for reasonable price with great views from the restuarant. I would stay here if I go there again.

Excellent views of the lake. Is not within walking distance of the Queenstown city centre but there is a shuttle for $5 each way. Service was brilliant, rooms could do with an upgrade but the view makes up for it. Contiki stay at this hotel which can be good and bad, depending on what you're after. IF you're after a romantic quiet time, check a contiki itinerary before booking.

We wished we had a week here, instead of just 1 night. The views from the dining room and bedroom were fabulous. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was fantastic. We ate on the way in to Queenstown and were sorry to miss the incredibly priced meals with the greatest view.

A very nice hotel with great views of the Lake. The room was a good size and very comfortable, however it was relatively hot at the time we stayed and without airconditioning the room wasn't easily ventilated. We did leave the sliding door to the patio area open but little breeze came in. The restaurant was good and the staff pleasant and helpful. It is located about 3-4 Km from the centre of town which made for peaceful nights and is served by a shuttle bus service that runs every 1/2 hr, so all in all good value for money

This hotel is a little way out of town but has a magnificant view over the lake and mountains - also in a very quiet location. Our only gripe would be the breakfast which was very sparse (continental) and virtually inedible (full buffet). Staff were otherwise very friendly and helpful. If we wanted a quiet stay in Queenstown would stay there again.

Good place to stay with a young family (in the 2 bedroom apartment) although the stairs could pose a risk to a crawler/toddler, didn't provide a cot either. The hotel is a little out of Queenstown but they have a bus that comes through regularly. All the facilities were really clean and room service was great. Only down side was that we had a rude note left on our car telling us that it would be towed away as it was in a private park! There is one park to each unit and someone kindly parked in ours so management was consulted and thankfully everything was resolved - still not a nice feeling when you are on holiday!! Despite this we plan to return here next time we go to Queenstown.
