We had a pleasant Stay.
Room, food and service were all at about the standard you would expect for this price range. Good value for money and likewise am perfectly happy with is delivered in return. Will continue to stay here for my frequent visits to Christchurch.
You get a lot of value out of the excellent rates they charge. They have actually gone beyond my expectations in terms of the level of service and facilities included in what I've paid for.
Enjoyed the stay and would recommend
No problems encountered at all. Restaurant service was excellent. Friendly and efficient withour being over the top. Food in the restaurant was very good value for money.
The room was neat and tidy, very comfortable. I booked a table in the restaurant and enjoy a few drinks in the bar before dinning. The service in both areas was excellent. I could not fault the restaurant meal. I required a taxi early the next morning and the staff organised it without any fuss. My stay at the Chateau on the park was a most enjoyable experience.
Beautiful hotel, very quiet, spotless rooms and good value meals. A+
Great price for a very nice hotel. Right across the street from a beautiful park and only a 15 minute walk to the city. Hotel also provides a shuttle to the city centre, but I didn't use it during my stay as the weather was wonderful and the walk is through the park the entire trip. Room service was also really good and well-priced.
Excellent hotel with great facilities in a city location. Easy access to central areas. Food and service excellent.
We had a very pleasant stay. The evening meal was excellent!
Hotel has character and beautiful gardens and is very comfortable with lots of free parking
Would stay again, courteous staff clean accomodation, handy location
Service Was excellant from the concierge arranging our tours & desk staff were very friendly & helpful . Which made our stay with you Enjoyable
This is wonderful hotel just out of CBD. So you will spend more on taxis here than staying right down town. Service staff and facilities are excellent. Hot water supply showers and baths are fantastic. This is a major for me 8-) The only negative I would say is the wireless Internet access that they offer (for free) is worse than useless and I find myself paying for mobile 3G Internet in preference to their slow and unstable free wireless.
Hotel provides a shuttle to Railway Station for those early departures. We paid for s shuttle on our return, $6. per person. Only $12 for a taxi. Hotel is not in city centre but does operate a shuttle. Easy walk to shops on Riccarton Road, with plenty of restaurants. Over the road from Hagley Park which offers a pleasant walk. Restaurant has 'express breakfast' great for those with early departures. Room average size with a very comfortable bed. Plenty of parking. Highly recommended. Would stay here again.
Dear All, My Mother & I arrived for the first time in Christchurch at Midnight & it was freezing. I had booked a hire car that was frozen over & with no map were given simple directions to the Chateaux and we found it with no trouble at all. The location is great and the service is very friendly but that is just how the New Zealanders are. The building is a bit tired and the gardens a bit sad, Winter though but for the price it is a great deal and as I said a very good location. The beds were good and the soap & bathroom products are lovely. I have to say that we were sadend with the entrance fish pond, as we are pet lovers, to see floating, half dead carp was very off putting. I would say try it and Christchurch is very easy to find your way around, the gardens are lovely.
Bit disappointed with the room view to car park and size if paid full value for room would not have stayed there for 4 days. Staff were excellent and need more information for internet access.
Enjoyed a week at The Chateau and would definitely recommend it. Shuttle driver took us to Mona Vale a delightful park & cafe 2 minutes from The Chateau. Staff very helpful. Loved the bar and restaurant. Room was well appointed and cared for. Enjoyed the walk through Hegley Park & Botanic Gardens to the city. Grounds of The Chateau were a delight as was the whole layout. Too cold to test out the pool though it looked good.
An excellent Hotel - food was fabulous - exceeded expectations
We only stayed one night and found the room to be clean and comfortable all though the place could do with an update, starting to look tired in places but for the price it was fine. Room was rather "stuffy" at night and air conditioning too noisy to have running all the time
