The Cliff Bay Hotel Madeira

Lovely hotel, the room-interior obviously has not been upgraded for a few years, but very clean, so no problem with that either.

Something that listed is their free shuttle bus to the city. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Super value.

The staff were very helpful and the service was very good. The only downside was that th restuarant was overpriced.

Although the situation of this hotel is excellent, the service was not as expected of a five star hotel. The common areas were clean and well maintained. However, the room was not cleaned properly and we always had missing towels and bins which were not emptied. It took three days for reception to attend to our complaint that the TV was not working. Further, calls to reception and housekeeping were not answered. This aspect of the service left much to be desired. Indoor and outdoor pools as well as the views of the sea were lovely. Would recommend this hotel if service could be improved.

One of the best hotel that we have stayed. Large room with large terrace. Outdoor-indoor poll at 26 degree with very very confortable long chair. A beautiful spot on the cliff with the Reid's Palace just in front of us. A steel for the price paid. (125 euro instead of 220) Very good buffet breakfeast. A lot of little things for peoples (most of them retired) who like (ans need)comfort. Few yong peoples. We will definitively return when coming back in Madeira.

An excellent hotel which truly merits its 5 star status. A high degree of professionalism was experienced throughout this, my second stay is evident throughout my stay.

Excellent Hotel professional staff courteous and efficient

A lovely hotel, excellent location for both Funchal and the Lido. The facilities were good too - no need to leave the hotel if you are so inclined. Three separate restaurants to choose from, be aware some have an evening dress code. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definiately stay again if we go back to Madeira.

My favorite hotel in my favorite location. Have been to Cliff Bay before and what can I say, it's probably the perfect hotel.Staff helpful but relaxed. What I loved this time is that you really get value for your buck. Included in the rate (as a repeat guest you also get daily mineral water, newspaper of your choice and fruitbasket) internet, dvd library, shuttle to downtown, spa. If you go to Madeira, stay here.

a very good hotel with very high standards of sevice and cleanliness. Nothing is too much trouble and any requests are met very quickly. I have to make a special mention for three people - Tony - the guest relations person, Celia in reservations and Tania at the pool - the service these three people gave to me was over and above the expected levels. We will definately be returning to this hotel. The only disappointment was the tea and coffee being served at breakfast in plastic jugs - it always tastes much nicer in proper recepticles.
