The Falstaff Hotel Canterbury Guest Reviews

3 out of 5

An average standard hotel located right in the centre of town. Worth considering if you want a room for a night or two, but no longer.

4 out of 5

On a main busy main road, very close to tourist area and with reasonable parking at the rear (Beware of the sticky secretion from the silver birches on your car!) The hotel is very shabby on the outside - needs painting and a new hanging sign. Our annex room was large (because is was a designated room for handicapped?) and well furnished. The bathroom was extra large, with rails for handicapped, but nowhere to place one's toiletries! It desperately needed a shelf near the wash basin. Bath sheets were large. The room was not cleaned very well during our stay and the drinks tray was not restocked. We were not offered a city map on arrival and were not told our booking included breakfasts until we checked out! (Cooked breakfast was very good) Smoking was allowed in the tiny courtyard so we had to walk through the smoke when we went to and from our annex room. However, the hotel room was comfortable, the food was good and its location perfect. Would certainly stay there again.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The shared parts of the Old Mill part where we stayed were rather grubby and worn.

This is a lovely hotel, full of History, it is really impressive. It is however starting to show it age, but it is a nice place to stay.

Lovely hotel, ancient building sat right opposite the Westgate at the top of the High Street. Really convenient for shopping and sightseeing. Fantastic value, highly recommend it.

If you want something centrally located then this is the hotel for you. We stayed in the rooms separate from the main hotel but they were lovely big rooms. Breakfast was included and was lovely and the staff were very happy to help even if early in the morning.

A pleasant stay in a very old character hotel was only slightly spoilt by the total lack of good service in the restaurant. I would stay there again but would eat out.

hotel in a great location..... by the west gate tower, and a 1 minute walk from the west station plenty of parking ...... it might as well be in the centre everything in walking distance. our room was very basic, facilities not great but unremarkable... nice friendly staff. we had the last room in the place as we booked last minute and a wedding was on.... perhaps other rooms are better one night no problem wouldn't fancy a week there!! breakfast was great freshly cooked to order as much as you want plus cereals etc... tea and toast galour......

Charming hotel with an excellent breakfast, and friendly, helpful staff. The hotel has 2 additional buildings behind the main part. We stayed in one of them. Adorable town to spend a day or two.

We booked this last min and got it very cheap. Well worth the money. We were in the annexe and the rooms there were very nice. Plenty of parking. Excellent location. 2 min walk to centre of Canterbury. Breakfast was included and was very good. Cooked and then a cold choice, ie muffins, cereals, croissants etc. Would definately stay here again if could get it at last min price.

The room was large with a very modern bathroom, we were very pleased with the room. The hotel was very nicely decorated and had a lot of atmosphere plus it was very close to town so we could walk everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.

We numbered 4 persons and we were all very impressed with the Falstaff - although our rooms were slightly tired decor-wise, they were spotless and all facilities worked! The most impressive thing was the breakfast - it was very generous indeed and the staff are worthy of high praise - a very well managed breakfast room. We shall certainly book this hotel again when we visit our granddaughter at Uni. The location couldn't have been better. Many thanks.
