In its determination to create a different world, the Five Hotel has used one of the most noble of Asian arts: lacquer.
You will recognize the art of Isabel Emmerique in all the rooms of the Five Hotel. Isabel has been working with Chinese lacquer for 30 years; she is very well known abroad and is the only non-Asian artist to have won the Kanasawa Triennale prize in Japan. Thanks to her ultramodern works you can rediscover the Chinese lacquer approach… elsewhere and differently.

"Could not find booking initialy, then found it - Called us back when we got to the elevator, changed our room to the place the term 'couldn't swing a cat in it' was coined. At least we had the 'Magic lights' aka MDF with holes drilled in it placed over a light.

• Now your sight, as you look at the optic fibre light used within the designer decoration to give every single room a psychedelic appearance. Luminous glass desks, star-studded ceilings, light sculptures all create magic brightness.
