The Generator Hostel London Guest Reviews

Very helpful staff. Of course it's a hostel, so don't expect to have an undisturbed sleep

3.2 out of 5

Positive aspects: the hostel is just a 5-minute walk from king's cross station; the staff is always kind and helpful; there is a small canteen were you can have a dinner for a few pounds; if you need internet there is both pay per use internet terminals and free wi-fi. Negative aspects: showers are cold in the morning; toilets are not always clean.

I simply cannot believe that with so many people the place is totally spotless all the time--the showers, bathrooms, the bedroom they gave me; the sheets. Totally unbelievable. And the fantastic entertainment in the bar. And the breakfast service and the lounge with the internet access. I would recommend it to everyone. And all the personnell were super super polite.

Cheap, clean place to crash. Quite a long walk from Kings Cross (had heavy bags to carry). Renovations were inconvenient to negotiate but didn't disturb my stay. Noisy air conditioning unit left on all night, so didn't get any sleep. Can't fault staff or clean facilities. Breakfast good.

Enjoy London!!!

bad things are: 1. my room heater has turned off for 2 nights and I wonder why it's so cold - maybe it's so cheap hostel :-) 2. I paid for triple room but unluckily lived in quadriple which is less convenient.

When you walk in it looks like you just entered some futuristic after-school special. Rooms are average, and the showers were nice and hot. The bar is pretty cool. Different activities every night if you don't wanna go out. And the happy hour is pretty sweet at a pound and a half a drink. As well, dinner for just over 3 pounds was a great value. Though i thought the breakfast was pretty meager. But overall a decent place to stay.

Friendly staff, great food, and bar!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought it would be more noisy, but found it easy to relax and chill even in the early hours of the morning!!! Very impressed as i normally stay at the Hilton, or holiday inn, but my budget is tight at the moment and i have already bookec my next stay at the generator!!!! Also my brother is applying for a job there, its that good!!

Great for groups in London for nights out, not so great if you''re on your own. Very cool but the decor and lighting are a bit full on. Very laid back but our room was absolutely filthy. ok for one night and for £10 you can''t complain!

The generator is definetly the place to stay, if you are young and new to london. It will give you instant access to the city not only in terms of its location but also via the people that work there and also those that stay there! I had a blast in the exclusive nightclub on the premises!
