Getting there:Directions to The George Hotel From the Airport to The George Hotel Leave the airport and turn left at the first roundabout onto Memorial Avenue and head straight along it. Go straight through the second roundabout and stay on Memorial Avenue. Stay on Memorial Avenue until it becomes Fendalton Road. At the end of Fendalton Road turn left at the set of lights onto Harper Avenue. Get into the right hand lane and stay in that lane. Turn right into Park Terrace staying in the right hand lane. 200 meters on the left is The George Hotel. We are on the corner of Park Terrace and Peterborough St at 50 Park Terrace. Travelling time to the hotel from the airport is about 20 minutes.
Check-in Procedure:If your arrival time is before 2.00pm, we will do our best to have the room ready, however if this is not possible we can store your luggage until you check in. Our reception is staffed 24 hours each day, so we would be happy to welcome you any time. Please do advise of a late arrival.
Car parking:All our house guests enjoy complimentary off street car parking. Should you not see a free spot for your perusal, please give the concierge your keys and we would be more than happy to park the car for you.
Child Policy:Additonal guest charge - $NZ50 + GST per night. Children 4 and under stay free in a cot when accompanied by parents. Children between 5 and 12 years of age stay for free when using existing bedding or if a rollaway bed is required a charge of NZ$50 +Gst is applicable. Children between 5 & 14 years dine at half price when dining with adults.
Excellent Hotel, nice location nice staff and the warm welcoming gift including chocolate and The George Bear makes my night in the hotel, but really, a bit overprice. overall, good stuff

Newly refurbished, the room was brilliant. All staff were particularly friendly and eager to help. Location was also excellent with only a short and pleasant walk to the centre of the city. And definitely take advantage of the restaurants; we only used "50 on the Park" but the food was absolutely first rate. Can highly recommend the George Hotel on our experience.
They have gone for a degustation style format in the main restaurant, which is a bit precious and not overly enjoyable.

Elegant surroundings, impeccable service. The rooms were polished and beautifully appointed. We would recommend to anyone and stay there again.
Located at some distance from the central square, but more than made up by proximity to Parks, Botanical Gardens, and Arts Center. Easy access to trolley line- worth the $14 2-day pass cost. Excellent staff and facilities.
Service was excellent/ wonderful. However as a small luxury hotel while lobby is lovely the rooms were not up to standard of a luxury hotel. Very plain and you could tell they had been converted from an existing hotel. In particular the bathhrooms were old and need updating, as does the exterior. Price is too high for the room type.
Pescatore restaurant food/wine and service very good to excellent.
This hotel is an excellent example of a small, executive style hotel. The staff and facilities are first class. The onlt thing which slightly lets it down is the lack of a swimming pool, which could easily be added in place of the seemingly little used tennis court. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to any discerning traveller.

An absolutely exceptional hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The food is some of the best I have ever tasted! If you are staying in Christchurch you would be missing out by not staying at this superb hotel.
