We stayed for two nights in February 2011 at the Glasshouse paying £165 for a 'Deluxe room 1 -Queen". For quality and location this hotel scores very highly. The only downside is that for this price one gets little other than the room. Breakfast and broadband are extra. To be honest breakfast was not an issue (The Frankie & Benny's restaurant in the cinema complex next door is perfectly good and well-priced), but for a hotel of this calibre broadband should be free. Although everything they have is of the best standard, the Glasshouse lacks some facilities that some may expect, such as pool and spa etc. However, all things considered this is probably one of the finest hotels in Edinburgh (and I've stayed in a few).
On arrival we were met and welcomed by the entrance. The staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. We were shown to our room which was of a very good standard. The outlook over the garden space and carton hill was very pleasant, toiletries in the room nice and the room itself separated into a clothes, bathroom, sleeping and sitting area. We had a drink from the honesty bar which was a special touch and a wonderful breakfast in our room. Edinburgh itself is a beautiful city. We enjoyed a lovely few days at the glasshouse and would certainly return.
Most enjoyable stay staff were very helpful and pleasant. Great location for eating out, shopping and drinking. Rooms spacious loved the balcony and although did not venture out into roof garden it looked lovely. Although it was sunny it was too cold to sit outside in November. Would definetley go back to the hotel and would recommend to friends and family.
Yet another superb stay. We were upgraded to a suite on arrival and the breakfast service was outstanding. The reception booked a table for us at a great french restaurant and the porterage was outstanding....fully recommended get htere and experience the best of Scottish service
the hotel isn't a full service hotel - good for business and good for the Edinburgh Festival
A fantastic hotel with excellent views of Edinburgh in a fantastic City Central location. The staff are exteremely helpful and friendly and the hotel offers a naturally fantastic ambience. One of my favourite hotels now that I will definitely visit frequently.
A most luxurious hotel with so many little comforts. A beautiful building also. The service was excellent and also refreshingly discrete.
Staff all extremely courteous and helpful. Fantastic location. Very modern and comfortable room. Will definetly be planning another stay at the Glasshouse.
With a special price it was worth while staing at the Glasshouse Hotel. The staff is very nice and friendly, but somewhat unexperienced. The room I had was big, good, nice and very clean, but the cleaner should have looked under the bed, and I never got a bottle opnener. All in all, a pleasant stay!
Our overall experience whilst staying at The Glasshouse Hotel was very enjoyable and to a very high standard. The only negative point is that the hotel is situated next to a couple of pubs and a club which was very noisy (we could hear music and people shouting until 3.30am!!)
Absolutely loved this hotel. Staff were very attentive and courteous. Will definitely return to this hotel many times.
Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Excellent location, beautiful suite, fantastic breakfast and staff. Would recommend to all. Definitely worth the money.
Freindly service, great interior and the best doorman in town!
THE HOTEL IS IN AN EXCELLENT POSITION. THE BEDROOMS ARE REALLY COMFORTABLE. STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL.
The hotel was beautiful. On a whole the hotel was lovely, the beds were very comfortable and the situation was lovely. A very relaxing weekend!
The rooms, overlooking the rook garden, was excellent, as was the standard or fittings and the architecture - full marks.
There are two words that descirbe this Hotel; style and quality. I would normally prefer somewhere more traditional but the Glasshouse has changed this. Total enjoyment!
Rooms are visibly wonderful and the bed incredibly comfortable.
Beautiful Spacious Rooms. Very helpful Staff. Good value for a high quality, centrally located hotel Will definately return.
Spent a thoroughly enjoyable three nights at the Glasshouse Hotel in Edinburgh. Staff were polite, corteous and discreet. Will definetly return.
