We are situated on the lake front of Tekapo. The rooms are warm and comfortable and provide the perfect stopover between Christchurch and Queenstown. We cater best for the budget conscious traveller, Only an hours drive to Mount Cook, 45 mins to the Roundhill skifield and 4 mins to the ice skating rink.

Getting there:Drive two and a half hours south from Christchurch, or two and a half hours north from Queenstown. Well signposted, and hotel is on the main road into Lake Tekapo

A good clean hotel in a very good location. Stayed in a lake view room, amazing views over the lake and church.

Nice warm room awesome view, but is looking run down in need a good freshin up and paint job. The room would be more like $70 -80 not $91. was mould growing on back of curtin, would of been good if there was a microwave and bowls/plates etc.
Although in need of a facelift, we found the Hotel clean, warm, comfortable and very friendly staff. Will stay there again.

Unfortunately we came across a very unfriendly front desk attendant. There was also a party in a downstairs room which kept us awake until 3am. When we told the attendant she didn't seem to care and just said "if it happens again tonight to ring through".....not the best experience. Fantastic views though!
In need of some minor renovations e.g. painting, to be considered a nice place to stay
Although the Godley Resort has tried to update and modernise it's rooms they still need to pay attention to some housekeeping issues. It has an aura of 'days gone by' but you definitely can't beat the outlook in the Lakeview rooms.
We were given a room with amazing views of the lake, it was comfortable and clean. We had the buffet dinner as well which was delicious. Overall, lovely stay.
A convenient location for Mount Cook area and overlooking the Lake at Tekapo. Good sized room and comfortable.

Located right in the centre of town the location couldn't be any better. The rooms are basic but clean and the staff are keen to assist with anything.
The resort was in a good position. It is nothing flash but has everything needed.

Although I could not fault the facilities or service my husband and I had very little sleep on the night due our neighbours talking and a person above us pacing the room for at least a couple of hours. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms were very warm with very comfortable beds.

Absolutely STUNNING views from the lake view room. You do get some noise from upstairs if you are a light sleeper but not too bad. Avoid the standard room-no view and car park noise would be an issue. Average motel but MUCH more than i expected after reading other reviews.
Ben and Shirley was extremely helpful on the front desk. Ben organised bikes for us for the afternoon and we considered staying an extra night on the way back to Christchurch - mainly because of the good service. The location is sensational - one of the highlights of our trip. My son loved the bike ride through the hills.
