"I am afraid to say that this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, in any country. After paying $100, I was expecting a 'budget' room, but this room (103) was disgusting. Dirty, stained bathroom, dark room, uncomfortable beds, dirty & stained swimming pool, bad TV reception, terrible decor. There was a glass door to the room (privacy issues!) which meant that the room lit up from the hallway lighting (half the time). The other half of the time the corridor lights had been turned off, presumably by an annoyed guest, so that you pretty much had to feel along the walls to find your way (hastily) to the exit. Ancient wall heater I was too worried to use. Bathroom taps either leaked (cold) or barely ran (hot). Looking around Tekapo, there seemed to be plenty of nice-looking alternative accommodation, which I would certainly use next time, even dispite the promised 'upgrade' of Godley Resort." - Ross Anderson

"Although I could not fault the facilities or service my husband and I had very little sleep on the night due our neighbours talking and a person above us pacing the room for at least a couple of hours. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the rooms were very warm with very comfortable beds." - Anonymous
