We found this hotel to be just as described on the web. We had a good stay there, staff very helpful and room comfortable. We will visit again.
Be careful you get the address right -- asking a cab driver to take you to the HarbourView Hotel may end up with him dropping you at another (chain) hotel which is in a prominent location, and includes HarbourView in its name! They are 500 metres apart. When you do get it right, you will find it is operated by the YMCA, but it is a full service hotel and does a reasonable job. Staff are very courteous and helpful. It's a long (but easy) walk to the subway. Close to Wanchai night-life activities. Yes, most rooms DO get a harbour view !
I needed a place to stay near the airport before my early morning flight. The staff were very helpful. The bed is a bit too firm for me. Unfortunately, breakfast does not start until around 7:30 a.m. and I had an early morning flight. The location is close to the airport and MRT station, so it is convenient. Other than that, there is not much to do in the neighborhood.
We stayed for 6 nights at The Harbourview, and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is close to transport - bus, ferry, trams and tours (taxis are everywhere and cheap). The room (20th Floor) had a view to the Harbour (there was a billboard close to our room, but it was not overly intrusive), and room amenities generally were good. The breakfast was plentiful and good value, and the staff in the restaurant were friendly. We would stay at The Harbourview again.
great hotel if you are planning to attend the conference centre. About 50 m away from the grand Hyatt, and about one third of the price.
I recommend this hotel, the staff are very friendly and no request is too small for them they are always cheerful and helpful. The price is outside my usual price range but is reasonable for the standards in HK. I am sure it is as good as hotels on twice the costs and more. Very satisfied.
Good and friendly hotel with a good location
Excellent value for money with a fantastic view of Hong Kong Harbour. Will definately stay here again.
This is a small but excellently positioned hotel opposite the convention centre, and within walking distance of the ferry to Kowloon and Wanchai MTR station. It's sort of sandwiched inbetween the giant buidings surrounding it, but as soon as you walk in the unimposing entrance you are helped by the many staff who always seemed to be in the lobby ready to lend a hand. They were truly excellent. The rooms are on the small side, but ample for my needs, and I had a harbour view as requested. this hotel is an excellent option when you want a 5 star location without a five star price. I would certainly stay here again if I come back to HK Island.
The hotel is old, but well maintained. Had a harbour view room on the 20th floor and the view did not disappoint. Staff were friendly and helpful. Some minor negatives: The room is a tad small but I suppose that is the norm for Hong Kong. The aircon is independent from the rest of the room meaning that even when the key card is removed from the slot, the room power cuts off but not the aircon which has to be turned off using its own switch. Being environmentally friendly, I turned the aircon off from its switch but disappointingly, the housekeeping staff kept turning it back on and left the aircon running while I was out. There is a faint smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom every morning. The smoke seems to be entering the bathroom from the other smoking floors when the exhaust fan/light is turned off. The mattress is a bit hard but overall the bed is comfortable. Overall a good stay.
great service from all levels of staff. special compliments to the concierge who go all out to please and follow thru.
Good location and good price. The breakfast (buffet) have to be improve. The room was clean and the service very good. The Internet service is too much expensive.
The room is very clean and the location is good. The only thing is that the room is small and the seaview windows are very narrow. Not much harbour can be seen.
Pleasant staff. Large rooms. In a rather quiet area on the periphery of Wan Chai. No restaurant selection in the immediate vicinity. Close to Convention centre and an easy 10 minute walk to Star Ferry.
Excellent - third visit to the Harbourview - it ticks all the boxes! The refurbished rooms are a great haven from the busy streets of Hong Kong and the view is great. I'll be back.
Impressed. Rooms very comfortable and well furnished. Location ideal for Wanchai district with short walks to Star ferry to Kowloon and shopping and entertainment areas - also MTR station. Rooms are not big - as all in HongKong - but very high standard. Have paid considerably more in the past and received much less! Good value. I will be making this my base in future as I frequently pass through HongKong.
A well located hotel with good sized room, clean and warm service. The harbour view room has an excellent view of the harbour and the non-smoking room that I stayed in has no traces of smoke.
Most staff are helpful and polite. FO staff should be trained to possess more info on the identity requirement from different countries/places, before they ask a customer to produce the what document is needed. TV a little too small.
Excellent value for money.
Nice Hotel. Good view over to Kowloon. We had one of the "bigger" rooms which was nice (but not huge).
