The Haven Inn Sydney

Easy walking distance to Sydney University (15 minutes or so). Plenty of buses to the city. I thought $6 an hour (or $12 for 6 hours) to access Wi Fi a bit excessive in this day and age.

Ideal location for anyone taking a short break. It is so easy to get a bus into the CBD. From Coogee beach we were able to get a bus direct from Coogee to Glebe & the bus stops literally outside the hotel!. Some rooms have been newly renovated with floorboards which makes the rooms fresher & brighter than the carpeted ones. The rooms facing the shops across the road have a great view of the city. The pool is a very welcome facility. A huge bonus is the staff. They are so friendly & always willing to have a chat. If you want a well priced, relaxed hotel we would definitely recommend it. We had read some bad reviews before we travelled. At first glance from the outside of the hotel on arrival we were a little worried as it seemed a bit tired. But we were not without anything during our stay & it seems that alot of money and effort is being spent for renovations. So all we can say is that we enjoyed it. Visually it is being attended too & is getting better. We would stay again.

Great convenience to CBD

Great value for what you pay - good location, clean and comfortable rooms. Stayed before and will stay again.

Stayed for 3 nights, found it strange they cleaned our room everyday even though we did not put the tag on the door to request to have our room made up. Great location....close to parks and trams which only take about 10 minutes into the city. The breakfast only consisted of cereal, breads, juice, tea and coffee. Great for people on budget but not if you are looking for something a little bit nicer!

Be prepared that the hotel is very old and showing its age, not like the photos on the website. The price you pay is what you get. Staff were very helpful. Car park is very tight and small.

Very friendly service and they were all very friendly. Room was generally cleaned well and felt a good place to stay. Only negative is the buses keeping me awake, but i got used to that. I will defo stay again because they where so freindly

Excellent value for money

We wanted a room to sleep 4 adults...a rare thing! We found it at The Haven Inn. It was simple, basic accommodation but was clean and comfortable for our one-night stay. The breakfast was cheap but didn't include any choices for people who don't eat bread(ie, coeliacs). If they added yoghurt or fresh fruit that would really help a lot of people. The location is very good...lots of places to eat nearby, scenic walks around the Glebe neighbourhood, Blackwattle Bay and up to Broadway if you feel like a longer walk. Public transport at the door.

Worst is that this hotel does not have elevator but very narrow and steep stairs. Asked silent room so our room was assigned in third floor. I couldn't take luggage even 2nd floor until realising that it will not work. Succeeded to get immediate change to 1st floor (one floor from ground level) but room had lots of street noise instead. Good location with bus stops near hotel and Sydney's only tram line (light rail) stopping half a kilometer away. Swimming pool was not small but was not exactly same as in photos - wide angle photos are not good for ads. Overall felt that pricing was above what it was worth - it's still near city center though.

Pleasant quiet location,convenient parking,good value with facilities comparable to better than average country town motels.

The Haven Inn remains our favourite Sydney accommodation. In our opinion, the best location in Sydney with the friendliest staff.

Good value for inner city Sydney. Good locale, but noisy traffic. Bathrooms have a damp smell problem.

Great location in Glebe right on Glebe Pt. Road, known as "Eat Street" - lots of great small ethnic restaurants and cafes right there - and you feel like you're in a neighbourhood, not really the "city", although Darling Harbour is close and trains and buses are easy. The staff at the hotel are amazingly helpful and accomodating. The rooms are basic, but clean. We were travelling with kids and they put us in a "family room" which had a double, a single, and a separate room with bunk beds - all for the same price. I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you are travelling on a budget, and want great service.

I stayed in a room with no windows which is certainly a unique experience but at least it was quite.

The Hotel was ideally located for our needs, However, the noise from buses only stopped after 1am and began again at 4am. Some maintenance on the flooring needs urgent attention as there is a danger of someone tripping.

Staff very friendly,room clean,bed comfortable,good location for catching light rail into city, only negative comment is in relation to undercover parking, which we paid for 2 days,we were unable to use parking area on the second day and night due it being full and overflowing. Need to let customers know that parking in not guaranteed and they may need to park on the street and pay only if they are able to access the parking area.

Quite a good choice if you visit UTS or Sydney Uni.

Great location, fantastic staff and wonderful other guests. My only complaint is the bus stop outside: starts early and finishes late. Having said that my 8-year-old son slept through the buses and I would stay there again. Wonderful value-for-money.
