Rooms slightly small, but nicely modern in design and clean. Excellent location.
The hotel is in an ideal location. Parking is difficult as we could only find on street parking locally for which you could only stay for 3 hours. Hotel bar was great and very reasonable in price. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Excellent location and dispite being in the middle of the city - very quiet - excellent base for a visitot to the City.
I found the Hudson Hotel a great place to stay if you were to spend time in Edinburgh. Its location is perfectly situated off princess street and is only a few steps away from all amenities. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom has very good facilities. The bar is top notch and the staff are friendly and always close at hand when you need something whether it a drink from the bar or something to eat from the kitchen which has great grub.
We were disappointed in the menu selections and quality of food offered. Portions were too large, especially chips. More choice, better nutrition and taste quality would have been appreciated.
Fabulous location and nice staff, along with a great bar / restaurant. It had some key negatives however - particularly for a hotel that's not particularly cheap. The lack of airconditioning was a nightmare - it wasn't even warm in Edinburgh but the rooms were very hot and stuffy. The plug in fan provided was so noisy it was impossible to use overnight. SEcond negative was the bed - when booking a queen bed in a Club standard room that's what you should receive - not two single beds pushed together that don't even match up well. It was very uncomfortable and not right for a hotel in this price range. Also, getting laundry done takes two days - far cheaper places can turn it around on the same day. Overall, the hotel needs to improve on some of the basics that are required in this price range and star rating.
we found the hotel very good, our room was a little small but ok for a two day stay.my husband did hit his head on the light above the bedside table, the table being so low,and the light postioned alittle to high,it did make a cut,on reflection we should have reported it at the time but didn't think too,if he were not bald it might not have done so much damage, but after the shock it did cause me to laugh. we had a great time and would use the hudson again, the food was also good.
Complimentary glass of champagne each in the hotel bar was a nice idea. There is an excellent wine bar next door. Not pretentious with nice wines, food and atmosphere.
