Super hotel in great location. Handy for shopping and theatre. Staff attentive and professional. Nice room with very comfortable bed. Bathroom small but functional.
The location was very good but I didn't find the staff very friendly or helpful. The concierge didn't know where any of the restaurants were located. The shower dripped loudly and wouldn't turn off. There was no alarm clock, not enough towels or pillows.

Excellent and clean hotel in a prime location!! The only one issue was the fact it says on their website "City centre locations often cause difficulties parking but The King James offers private on site car parking for 20 cars." - they fail to say this will cost you £15!!

This was a booking for my elderly parents. Staff could have been slightly more helpful, or aware, given my parents age and disabilities.
Very central to key attractions and shops. No problems of any sort.
a good welcome at reception, the room was a twin, only complaint would be noise from other rooms early in the morning. Breakfast was a good buffet and i would stay there again
We were delighted with our stay at the Thistle Hotel in Edinburgh. The service was above the call of duty and the food was superb. We wouold definitely stay there again, it's central location met all of our needs. We will surely be recommending it to our friends.
Fantastic location, just of Prince st, opposite Waverley station. Rooms clean and very well sound proofed. I didn't use the restaurant so can't comment on that but communal areas very clean, staff very friendly. Would recommend.
A good choice.
The room was an ideal stop over and the bed was fabulously comfortable, also the bedlinen was lovely and crisp and fresh and soft. Breakfast was a bit disappointing and staff rather glum in the dining room. otherwise location was perfect for Waverly Station or bus links. would certainly go back.

Very clean and easily accessible. The staff are nice and helpful. 7 mins walk to Waverly railway station and is close to Calton Hill.

The hotel is good, but with the over use of staff that speak little English,communication can at time be strained.
