It is off season. The room had a single bed. You couldn't swing a cat in the room without hitting the walls--for which neither the walls (which could use painting) nor the cat would have been happy. You bumped into the flat screen TV on the wall going to and from the very small bathroom. The price should have be 25-33% less. The room reminded me of Harry Potter's room beneath the stairs in the original movie.
Brilliant location, nice rooms, good breakfast.
In the centre of Stratford, very close to the theatres. Good size, clean rooms. Excellent place to stay.
If you stay at this hotel get a room in the newer section. The single I had in the old building whilst full of charm was small, cramped and not soundproofed at all. I could hear everything said by the couple next door. Other than that it's a great place.
This is a terrific hotel. a mixture of modern and old world. had a problem with our reservation when we arrived but the excellent manager sorted things out. great location, comfortable room, helpful staff. i will be back.
We particularly appreciate being able to postpone dessert/cheese & bicuits until we return from the theatre - so dinner is not rushed. We were able to sit with friends, discuss the performance, have a leisurely coffee & dessert before going to bed. Brilliant!
Location was superb.Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Parkng was included.Bit pricy, I suppose , but if youre in Stratford to do Shakespeare you couldnt ask for better.
Difficulties because of the work - staff vert friendly but "pushed". Our room was up some stairs which were not cleaned because of the builders, also a very poor outlook from the window. Good car parking
They were having building work done at the time I stayed so I don't want to be too critical. I didn't think the carpet in my room had been hoovered before I arrived and my waiter at breakfast was inexperienced in that he brought the cooked meal before I had finished the cereal and did not offer to take it back and wait until I had finished. The price I paid would have been acceptable if everything had been perfect.
Good hotel - would stay there again. Currentlyy refurbishing so can be noisy but rooms lovely, service good and EXCELLENT location - only 2 mins walk everywhere you need to be.
Room rate a little expensive, however good choice if you need to be in the centre of town.
If you are unfortunate to stay in the old part of the Hotel which has yet to be renovated you will be disgusted with the room you are allocated. No heating in the bathroom(very cold on a winters morning) no shower over the bath, water stain to ceiling above bed, curtain hanging down due to missing hooks, toilet seat loose, old shower mat, surface on bath worn. The staff were unsympathetic and abrupt when I complained and thought if they smiled this would excuse their behavior and attitude!!
Initially had to change rooms as shower broken. Good breakfast & service. Reception very helpful. Considered rates to be somewhat expensive.
The bedrooms badly requre upgrading which we understand is planned. Otherwise the hotel is well located and service in the dining room for breakfast and at reception was very good.
The hotel booked me into the 'new' part of the building. It is very scruffy and for the amount of the cost of the room it is in need of redecoration. Got the feeling that if I had specified which part of the hotel I wanted to stay in I would have had a nicer room. It was fine. But that is all.
The hotel is well placed within easy walking distance of the town centre. Comfortable, clean, quiet rooms, although in need of a little redecoration. Old part of hotel lovely, with oak beams and stone tiled floors - very atmospheric. Buffet-style full English breakfast very tasty, although waiting staff a little miserable.
The food and service was excellent. Staff were efficient, friendly and helpfull. One of the nicest places I have stayed. I would certainly stay there again and recommend it to others.
The first room we were allocated was disgusting, paper hanging from ceiling, mouldy curtains and window frames and dirty, grubby throws on beds and chairs. We were then offered another room which was slightly better but still on the grubby side. The breakfasts were very poor and although the staff worked hard we were kept waiting for ages and everyone in restaurant was complaining. All in all a very disappointing stay at the Falcon.
This is a charming hotel, but some rooms are now looking a bit tired. A major refurbishment is planned later in 2007, which sounds very promising. Let's hope the rates won't increase too much after that!
We were disappointed to be given a twin room, despite booking a double weeks in advance. The central heating wasn't working and the curtains were dirty. We were unable to change rooms. The coridoor outside the room was also rather shoddy.
