Getting there:South Yarra is a 10 minute car journey, South East of the CBD. Murphy Street is located off Toorak Road, between Punt Road and Chapel Street.

Car parking:Full valet car parking (undercover) is available at $20 per day, unless indicated as included.
Child Policy:Rates are per room for a maximum of two (2) people in a Studio Room and a One Bedroom Suite, and a maximum of four (4) in a Two Bedroom Suite. One (1) roll-away bed per one or two bedroom suite is permitted and is restricted to children under 12 years of age. An additional charge is applicable for a roll-away and must be requested at the time of booking. Infant cots are on request. An additional charge is applicable for a cot and must be requested at the time of booking.
The Lyall is a very nice small hotel in a very nice area, close to shops and parks. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed this hotel very much and it is perfect for travelling with a one year old baby as there was a small kitchen in the room with a microwave and big fridge.
The staff were brilliant, especially Nathan on the front desk he was helpful, friendly and very attentive good staff are hard to find and the Lyall should be commended on that
Very nice Hotel, not far from the station and Chapel street shops. Very clean room. Friendly staff. Realy enjoyed our stay. Would definately go back there again.
Had a very pleasant time. Surroundings of the hotel are gorgeous. A great destination in itself, let alone in a great area of Melbourne.
Excellent staff
My husband and I recently spent a long weekend at the Lyall Hotel celebrating our Anniversay. Firstly the pricing offered by the Hotel Club was excellent, couldn't do better anywhere else. The service at the Lyall was superb, the staff very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The location couldn't have been better either. Very quiet tree-lined street, just around the corner to the prestigious Toorak Road. Shopping heaven.
The hotel has exceeded my expectations and is even better than my last stay 3 years ago. What stands out is their service, the 1 bedroom suite I was staying in gives me a feeling of 'home away from home' and for a business traveller, the free internet service in the hotel is also added bonus. Price is also reasonable compared to a 5-star hotel. I will definitely go back to them when I visit Melbourne next time.

The lyall is a fantastic hotel.The service was outstanding-v friendly and they couldnt do enough to help-even rushing out from reception to help us in with shopping one day. The rooms are lovely and modern with a good sitting area.The kitchen was v well equiped and the bathroom was really modern with a fab shower.We stayed there with a toddler and they were really accomidating and the rooms living area was really handy when he was in bed. The hotel is also in a great position near a vibriant road with lots of great places to eat out. I would definatly recommend it.

Great staff, great location - handy by tram to melbourne or walk to botanic gardens and river - quiet side street, plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Good sized rooms. What more do you need?

I was very please with this hotel. The decor is understated but luxurious. The rooms were generous in size and the one bedroom studio is a very good size for a weekend stay. The staff courteous and helpful. The location of the hotel was fantastic - close to shopping, bars, trams and the train station is just a 5 min walk down the road.
