The Macdonald Swan's Nest Hotel Stratford Upon Avon

A lift would have been helpful. The bathrooms in both the room and the public toilets in the reception area were not very clean. The food in the bar was nice and good value for money and the service was good.

My wife and I had a very comfortable stay, the room was clean and well appointed, staff friendly and room service prompt and efficient. By coincidence we were given the same room as we had stayed in last year. The hotel is very well situated just across the river and a short walk from the theatre and the town centre. Parking is straigthforward and free.

i found this hotel very clean, and a stones throw from the town centre. The parking is free but breakfast isn't included in the price. I think all in all a top hotel at £100 per night. 8 out of 10.

Great location! Parking available at the hotel. Leisure facilities available at sister hotel which is literally across the street. When busy breakfast service can be slow. Restaurant always busy in the evening which is a good sign, however being so centrally located there is no need to stay in and dine as there is a wide range of restaurants within the town centre. Hotel is children friendly. Only complaint was the abruptness of the receptionist on checkout. In short - would i stay there again? Definitely!

We stayed for one night our room was clean and a reasonable size with everything working Ok , service was friendly and helpful. It is very convenient for the theatre in Stratford and the town itself. All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and would use this hotel again.

We booked 3 rooms at this hotel for 3 nights and were very pleased with all of the rooms. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and nice. My husband found the mattress a little hard, but the rest of us slept well. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again if we ever returned to Bath.

The Hotel was in a very good location just over the bridge from the RSC The bedroom had been refurbished to a high standard & there is ongoing work to upgrade the restaurant & other parts of the hotel (you would not know that anything was going on) The staff were very efficient & friendly & I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel. Will go again & with the work being done it can only get better!

Fantastic service at all times. Brilliant breakfast served in our room - well worth the extra tray charge. Fantastic dinner in the sister restaurant over the road, and stunning service from the ladies in the health spa, where we had massages and nail manicures.

The bedroom we were provided with was rather tired, with the double bed right up against one wall. Otherwise we were very pleased particulary with the quality and service at breakfast

Building work under way on ground floor of hotel during our visit. Disruption kept to a minimum.

Ideal situation for walking to the theatre. Newly re furbished rooms very comfortable. Would come again.

Good hotel, we had a tastefully designed room, bed very comfortable, staff helpful, breakfast good choice of hot and cold food. Right by river and within easy walking distance of town.

We have stayed at this hotel before and would rate it highly. However, on this visit 30th August 2008, the hotel was overbooked with a large party of guests. However, they accomodated us at their sister hotel, the Alveston Manor, across the road. It was a more expensive hotel and they gave us superior rooms, at the price we had booked. Both these hotels are ideally situated within walking distance of everything.

Although work was being done in some areas of the hotel, it didn't affect our stay. The room was well-furnished and comfortable. The breakfast was great.

Recently done up room was nice. Breakfast was fantastic, and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Location wise everything is within walking distance. Would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant staff - wonderful breakfast, excellent location. There is no pool or gym there, so you have to use the one in the sister hotel across the road, only 2 mins walk though. We were there for our anniversary and would have liked a room with a better view. We asked to move from our first room as the view was not good, but the view in the secong was hardly improved. But good hotel. Stratford is beautiful!

My husband and I spent two nights at the Swan's Nest for our 20th Wedding Anniversary. We arrived very late but were greeted by a friendly and helpful lady at reception. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone staying in Stratford.
