The Marque Hotel Sydney

TV wasn't working. While I don't got to a hotel to watch TV (we went to live theatre) I still expect that for $230 a night the TV should work. Otherwise a satisfactory experience. The Marque is where I always stay when in Sydney.

I have stayed many times at THE MARQUE because it generally offers good value and the location is ideal (public transport close by as well as Chinatown and Darling Harbour). Rooms are quiet, comfortable and clean with great block-out curtains. Cafe meals for breakfast are nearby if you don't get a good B&B package deal. Staff are very accommodating. Best rooms are on higher floors facing Quay St (less traffic noise despite double glazing). I will stay there again and again.

Convenient and comfortable

Bit noisy and windows a bit grubby - that's a central location for you - in fact you could see Central Station from our room. Internet not working but they moved us to a new room without hesitation. Overall, very good. Nice roof top pool.

Friendly staff remembered my name.A staff member in the restuarant still worked there and he was there a couple of years ago so must be good place to work he also was friendly and efficient

Geat location. Close to all transport. Could hear the peak hour traffic but didn't find this a problem. Customer service, very good. Bed very comfortable and room a good size.

We were very happy with this hotel. The hotel itself was very quiet, no noise from other guests, & the double glazing kept out most of the traffic noise. Only shortfall was the television did not have digital free view.

This was ideal for me as a senior single person to stay. I went by train from the Airport, then walked to the Marque, stayed the night, then got on the Countrylink to Kempsey the next morning.

The hotel is in an excellent location, close to Central Station, Chinatown, Paddy's Market and Darling Harbour. Also only about 20mins down George Street to the QVB and city shops and plenty of cafes and bistros around to choose from. Our Premier room was clean and modern; beds are comfy and extra pillows are available. We were on the 7th floor so no street noise. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on the restaurant or room service. The staff on the front desk were courteous, cheery and extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble. If you're paying full rates the hotel would be expensive, but on-line 'hot deals' are well worth looking at.

Great central location next to Central Railway. Nice rooftop area and pool. The staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Would love to stay again but am usually alone (was sharing on this occasion) and is usually a little out of my price range.

Ideally located near central station ,light rail, China town and c.b.d. rooms upgraded since my last visit some years ago. Manned 24hrs.Adequate breakfast with newspaper, will stay again.

Great Hotel in a good position. We were allocated a room on the 7th floor facing George Street. Whilst the windows are double glazed there is a bit of traffic noise during the day and earlier in the evenings but this dies off late evening and early morning. A word of warning for light sleepers.

Hotel very clean, room good, staff extremely helpful, pool and sauna were very good, this hotel was close to the venue we were attending, and I would consider staying here again but would prefer a hotel a little closer to sydney cbd next time but overall very nice

We found this hotel located on the edge of China Town with nearby Paddys Markets and Darling Harbour in walking distance. The rooms were really quite big & the bathroom was huge.We would stay here again

Great place to stay, good location right near Chinatown and best of all, the mini bar prices are better than the prices at some bars! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I found with my bare feet a couple suitcase screws from a previous occupancy (the carpet is very dark coloured and striped) but apart from that the room was spotless. The television hadn't been set-up properly but the stations could still be viewed. Limited free telephone calls are provided as is 3 hours of free daily internet connection. The quality of service, politeness and courtesy of the staff would be difficult for other hotels of the same rating to surpass. The hotel is centrally situated for all the major attractions which can be got to by the number 555 free bus from either outside Central Station or just a short walk down George Street. For what I paid for my stay I was delighted with the deal I had and would definately stay there again and would recommend the hotel to my friends.
