Getting there:From the South - M5 Leave the M5 at J12. Follow signs for Gloucester City Centre and Gloucester Docks along the A38. Proceed along the Bristol Road. After approx. 2 miles you will pass the Gloucester Docks on your left. At the next set of traffic move into the right hand lane into the one way system, take the left hand lane and turn left at the Black Swan Inn into Southgate Street. The hotel is located on your left approx. 100 yards along opposite St Oswald's Priory. From the South - M4 Leave the M4 at J15 (Swindon) and follow the dual carriageway (A419/A417) to Gloucester. Turn left at the 'Air Balloon' and continue down the hill passing under the M5 motorway as you approach Gloucester. Proceed over the first roundabout, take the second exit. The Cheltenham and Gloucester offices will appear on your left. At this roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto the A417. At the next roundabout, take the 1st exit left onto Old Cheltenham Road and follow the directions as M5 North above.

The hotel is currently undergoing alterations, but the room was very clean and well equipped for the price charged. Breakfast was excellent and served early for me as I had to leave before the normal breakfast time. Staff were friendly and obliging.
Needs refurbishing, very 80's. Friendly staff, good breakfast - loved the thick fluffy white towels which I wouldn't have expected in a hotel of this standard - they were a lovely surprise. Great location for the centre of Gloucester with NCP car park just around the corner which the hotel paid for.
We had a lovely stay at the new county excellent location but could do with a little sprucing up as looking a little tired,but great value for money.
Friendly and helpful staff. Decor a bit tired but room well-laid out and a decent size. Gloucester a bit noisy at night; screams, glass breaking, alarms.
Clean and friendly. Good central location. OK for guests coming in late (or next morning)!
This is a decent, centrally-located 3*. What I really liked about this hotel was that there was no tray charge to have breakfast in the room
Ideally located in the centre of the city so that everything is within easy walking distance. Free parking in an adjacent multi-storey car park. No lifts in the hotel though for those with a handicap.
Ordered 2 x papers for consecutive days, neither paper came, actually found paper on 2nd day in lobby!! Staff Friendly enough if lacking in knowledge of local area. Very loud at weekends, brilliant if your there to party, terrible if your there for any other reason. Have got 2 x wonderful resturants within spitting distance.
The room was quite compact but had everything we needed, was near the town centre and the continental breakfast brought to the room was really nice!
Rooms need an upgrade but staff very friendly.
The central location is wonderful, it can tend to get a bit noisy.
Good location in the Town Centre, but the parking in the security car park was £20.00 per night, therefore, it made the overall cost of the stay high in comparison with that of similar accommodation in the area.

An ideal hotel for a short stay located right in the centre of Gloucester - no need for a car!
