Very nice hotel, great location and lovely rooms. The staff were very friendly & helpful, some of the best service I have ever recieved.
Reception staff extremely friendly, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Nothing was a bother to them. Room nice and clean, plenty of room for two and quite quiet. Very good location for Central Station and free Shuttle bus. Would stay again.
Lovely Staff, great location next to central station.
A beautifully appointed room with a massive very comfortable bed. It was very quiet even though so close to Central Station and the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
liked the hotel. staff very helpfull.the faciltys were also good and room cosy.will stay there again
In a word, excellent! My wife and I were most impressed with the courtesy and efficiency of all staff, particularly Lilian and the other young women at the front desk, and the young men who undertook the valet parking and ferried our luggage to our room. Thank you: we shall be back!
The staff were very professional & friendly , location was great & we will certainly be staying there in the future.
I booked two rooms at the sebel when i turned up at the reception desk to check in the man receptionist said that I wasn't on his computer list even though I had provided him with my booking voucher and the cost of the rooms had been taken from my credit card, he said there was no problem and gave me one room, I pointed out that I had booked two rooms and he again said no problem and checked us into the second room. the rooms were fine, clean and had everything I needed and was in a convienient location for what we were doing that evening so overall I was happy with the hotel but next time I will call in advance to make sure they actually have my booking on their system before trying to check in
Good location to the show I was attending - 20 minutes walk to Sydney Football/Cricket Stadium or $10.00 in a taxi. Few minutes walk to Central Railway Station. Good size rooms and a great swimming pool. This was my second stay.
Clean Friendly good parking facilities close to everything Sydney
Overall, we were a bit disappointed with our stay at the Sebel Surry Hills. First of all, there was a used contact lens case left under the basin in the bathroom. This might seem minor but it shows how "thorough" their cleaning routine is. Then there's the indoor pool, spa & sauna. The supposed heated pool was icy cold and the sauna was only luke warm. After we contacted the reception, the staff told us some of the elements weren't working. The only reason we chose them is because of their pool, spa & sauna so it was disappointing that we could not enjoy these facilities at all. Then there's the air con, which we were not able to lower the temp and because the doona was quite warm, we were sweating throughout our sleep. Also, I would not recommend drinking anything from the fridge as we found one of the bottled water has mould all over it and who knows how long it has been sitting in the fridge. Other than that, the location was good and the price was relatively reasonable.
Service was great and fast room was really good and to standards with everything will definetly be returning again thanks
We love this hotel as it has something to offer everyone. A great place to catch the city bus, trains, and hop on hop off bus. Wonderful food on Crown Street. Lots of choices. Great music scene for all genre's. Wine bars, pubs, cafe's, all types of food. Not far from Woolworth's which is important for those who like to take some meals in the room, or picnic in the park. Staff were very helpful with maps and directions. We are walkers and so could walk to Opera House without trouble. However the free bus nearby will give you a ride almost to the door. Very Clean, Very Modern, Very well taken care of. Love it and highly reccommend this hotel. David Jones, Myers, and all major shopping very close. Day tour buses will pick you up and deliver you to the door. Try it you'll like it.
The Sebel is a place of calm, efficient professionalism in the noisy environment that is near Sydney's Central Railway Station. It's the ideal place to stay if you have business in the city, or if you're booked on an early morning flight departure or arrive late in the evening. Its a few minutes walk from Central Railway Station so a train to the airport (Domestic or International) is the most economical option, rather than a cab or shuttle. Particularly if you're not sharing the fare. The service was great, the room was clean, and I had a restful night's sleep before an early flight. Thanks, Sebel.
If it wasn't for the lazy staff I would seriously consider staying again. It is a nice hotel for its price but the staff were useless.
The hotel is reasonably well located and it is not too expensive. rooms are medium size. The biggest issue with this hotel is it poor staff: the staff in reception were helpless, forgot to do what you ask for, late to bring a solution. They really undermine the quality of the hotel.
When staying at a 'Sebel' I think people expect better than this. I could have stayed at a much more 'downmarket cheaper hotel' and had a similar experience. It was OK, but not great. The staff, however, were very good.
Great value for money. The location was very close to the railway stn and other amenities. I was impressed with the size of the room, the free hotel facilities like a swimming pool, steam room, sun deck and gymnasium. The air conditioning the hoetl was very good especially as I stayed in January. The staff were helpful, professional and smartly dressed. I woud definitely stay in the Sebel again.
