Cute, clean hotel in a residential area of rome. It takes about 20-25 minutes all together to get to the city center, but if you have the time, it is ok! Otherwise you might prefer staying closer to termini. There is no breakfast, but there is a good/inexpensive cafeteria right next to the hotel. Reception staff was great. Only negative side: we forgot a pair of boots (fairly new) in the hotel and when we came back the same afternoon after having checked out, they had not been returned...so i guess don't forget anything 'cause you will "lose" it.
We really liked this place, it was clean and really nice and new. it was a pity that the lift wasn't working when we were there. we wish the pool bar was open and really needs some seats around the pool area for relaxing. the young guy on reception rocked, he help us soo much with silly little thing and places to eat. we found it a good distance from city. about 10 stops from main station, but takes about 15min max including walking to/from station. highly recommend!
Brand new room, with design furnitures and all the facilities for a pleasant stay.
We stayed at the Strand over Easter weekend, 2009. The hotel is a bit difficult to locate when driving down the street - look for one small sign posted on a building about 6 ft. up. Outdoor area of the hotel is picturesque (small pool with swim up bar) but the bar was not yet up and running. There was a nice patio which we enjoyed, but we had to sit on the ground because no patio furniture was available. Rooms were nice, comfortable, but small (as expected). Elevator was not working. Desk attendants were friendly and helpful. Short walk to the red-line Metro, which made seeing the city quite easy. It was great to find a hotel close enough to the city that had secure parking (for a fee). Definitely recommend the hotel and will stay there again.
This is the second time to use this hotel. It is very convenient to get to the metro. Sandro is a kind man and helpful. The breakfast is not available yet which is a downside. The cost did go up, but the season is busier so I did expect it. Still a convenient hotel overall.
Sandro was a great host. It was in the off season, so the price was great. Easy location to a metro stop, parking was fantastic. Breakfast was not included yet. Rooms were small but adequate for leaving your stuff and being on the go!! The showers were a bit unmanagable with the water filling quickly, but overall the stay was satisfying.
Good hotel, very close to 2 Metro lines. Nice and new. Reception was very helpful and we were proveided with everything we wanted.
The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. I would definately stay there again. The hotel is not in the tourist area however it is only minutes on the subway for anywhere you want to go- the subway stop is only a block away. The hotel is off an alley off the main street so hard to find right away but worth it.
this is a very good hotel. the location is near the metro station but it is not very clear to see the hotel. the service is very good. they have internet. i will stay here when i come here again.
It worth the special offer..
This was a great place with plenty of room space for Rome. It is a 15 min train ride from the center of Rome but worth it to get out of the busy center and have a nice motel to come back to. Has internet but was slow. Great price for Rome - probably one of the cheapest we paid in 4 weeks in Europe. To find it- it is just a doorway down a driveway with a little sign on the wall facing the street, but inside it is quite good. Plenty of food places close and a grocery store 300meters away.
Very small rooms but modern. Far from town center but very closed to metro station. No service, no breakfast but doesn't matter because very easy to take cheap breakfast in any "Bar" in Italy.
I absolutely loved it!! I found the staff so helpful, the metro location brilliant ( 15 minutes ride from the centre of town), the room only gorgeous ( recommend you ask for the third floor). I'm definitely going back. Great price, great location, great staff and only a stone's throw from Rome with an outdoor pool, what more could you ask for. It's a find!!
great hotel near the subway. the hotel is new and doesn't have free breakfest but this is the second time i have stayed at this hotel. great
The hotel lobby is down a lot of stairs and the room was up a lot of stairs with the elevator not working. Carrying luggage was difficult. Also the wireless internet was challenging. However, overall the hotel was very clean, close to the train station and reasonable in price.
my second visit to room and hotel. room was very small, but nicely appointed. (we had twin room, double is better). I suggest you get double room as the bed is out of this world, memory foam. service from reception very good, will return on next visit.
The hotel is still under construction and all facilities were not available such as breakfast and the pool. The water in the pool was green and needed some chlorine and cleaning, the bar in the pool was not finished etc. Our 4-bed room was actually a 2-bed room with two extra beds and it was very little space except for the beds. The beds were a little to hard for us. The room had air conditioning but it is switched off when you are leaving the room so when you arrive it’s hot. Once a day we needed to call the front desk to have the air conditioning to be reset. It’s a quiet area, not so many restaurants and stores, close to the Metro and 10 minutes from the city centre. The personnel were very friendly and if you ask they will give you a lot of information and “good to know”. If we would stay there again? It’s what you can expect for a low cost hotel. Maybe we would have preferred a hotel in the city centre but it’s not a problem.
Notification of continuing construction work in progress was something that nearly stopped me booking.Fortunately I opted for the Strand because of the off road secure underground parking.Construction work was virtually undetectable even during the day.Proprietor and staff very curtious and obliging and the hotel being set back slightly from the road means its very quiet.
The Strand Hotel is modern with all you would want in a city break. But the distance from Rome is 10 mins by Metro and much further otherwise, even so it was ok. Well decorated but needing the smaller details finished..ie..no shower door! friendly and helpful staff. Would try one closer next time. Too far out for families. Also not so easy to find at night, signing is inadequate.
This hotel is new, so the facilities in the moment are very poor (swimming pool was opened that weekend, no breakfast available, some work had to be done) It is located close to two metro stations, so it is easy to reach the centre of Rome.
Not the easiest to find, but once I did find it, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Depsite arriving a little earlier than expected they managed to get our room ready early. The location is ideal to get to the nearby Metro stations and use as a base if you are looking to to primarily just sleep there. Some of the hotel is still under development, so there were no catering facilities. Also there is a small pool and pool bar, neither of which were open yet. I may use it again next year...hopefully everything will be open by then.
