They found us a room but unfortunately only half the lighting worked, and there was no-where to hang your clothes, not even a chair to drap them over. The Victoria Hotel has been fully refurbished to a very high standard. Its central location is a block from George Street (Dunedin's main street) and less than three blocks from the Octagon.
The hotel offers 40 guest rooms, including 2 suites and one two bedroom unit, with lift and stair access to all floors. The glass-walled lift boasts excellent views over Dunedin.
The guest rooms are well-decorated with 27 inch LCD TV, radio and alarm, telephone and very comfortable leather chairs. A refrigerator, iron, ironing board and hair dryer are provided in each room and access is via a card key lock. All guestrooms are tuned into Sky TV, and drycleaning services and breakfast in bed are also available.
The Victoria Hotel has a restaurant, open daily for breakfast and dinner. The Sunday night family buffet is sensational. There is also a function room, two cosy and comfortable bars and a gaming area.
