Great location, clean, modern and great value for money
Room: Small but newly renovated. Bed: Comfortable. Cleanliness: Clean but perhaps staff should wear hair nets to stop them leaving strands of long hair in visible and obvious areas like the bathroom and in the towels. Location: Excellent and central. Check in and out: In both cases, VERY slow. Hotel in general: there is a section that is unrenovated and allows smoking. This happens to be the first area you encounter when you come out the lift.

Heritage rooms are similar to our new Bellerive rooms but have slightly smaller bathrooms.All rooms have foxtel, LCD flat screen TV,Foxtel,ducted aircon,broadband,and new bathrooms. Please note these rooms are totally non smoking
Very basic rooms but they hit the right pricepoint. Great location for access to the city and its tourist area's.

My room was very spartan - YMCA or university dorm style. OK for the price for one night. Fine for travellers on a budget. Great location near the best shopping and attractions. The single rooms are overdue for renovation however. It had everything I needed but ambience rated 0. The front desk staff member on arrival was very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in a larger recently refurbished room which was very comfortable including the bed. Check in and check out was very friendly and efficient. It is a great location handy to local transportation. This was a business trip and I was quite impressed with value for money.
This is what you would expect of a budget hotel. All the facilities without the frills. It is well located, a few corners cut on the housekeeping.
The hotel is very good, very central and the staff very professional. The only down side is the attached restaurant.
location, location, location!!! Only 50 metres from Swanson Street - the hustle and bustle of the CBD of Melbourne - trams, shops and the most glorious food. 'Home Away from Home', a book about the history of the Hotel published to celebrate 125 years tells the story of one of the most interesting buildings I have ever stayed in. The staff were so friendly and helpful and made our family with a small baby feel comfortable and welcome. Best place we have ever stayed.
Overall very good. The only thing missing compared to other hotels I have stayed at is the Foxtel channels in the room.
Location is fantastic. The room was of a good size. The bar and mezzanine floor are great for just relaxing after a long day of shopping in Melbourne.

We have stayed at the Victoria Hotel Melbourne previously and we would recommend it to any person, no matter what country they are from. We had a room with queens size double bed. The rooms are spacy well equiped ADSL connection, paid and free TV, flat screens. What is more, you are right in the centre of the city, close to public transport, trams and Central train station.
A very good inner city budget hotel. Breakfast starts a little too late for mine, but rooms are good service is too....
Whilst the old part of the building is looking very dated the new renovations have been done well. Signage could have been better to find the gym and new section. More information about needing to take a towel to the gym and so on would be helpful too. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Location superb. History fascinating.
