Has a good location, but dissapointed in rooms. I stayed at hotel about 12yrs ago and room hasnt been updated since then.
great hotel staff where very friendly good service
Great location right near town and very convenient parking for an inner city hotel. Staff at reception always very busy whenever we were there and it took ages to be seen to which was the only negative.
First Class - 10 out of 10 - friendly staff and great value for money
The rooms in the hotel were very dated and suffered from considerable wear and tear. The hotel rooms can do with modernisation. However, location was ideal for theatre break and had a key feature of car parking facilities onsite which many other city centre hotels do not have.
The hotel room was decorated in a very traditional style, and was clean and comfortable. The weather was extremely hot when we stayed and the room was very warm at night. The temperature control system was noisy and not very effective. Couldn't leave window open at night because noisy fans close by outside. The staff were vey pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.
The Hotel itself is fine. However, charging £13 for WIFI access for 24 hours is ridiculous. WIFI should be free, as it is in other hotel groups.
The hotel had a lovely reception / entrance. Very nice bar. We didn't eat at the hotel. The room was an executive double - 2 x double beds for 4 adults. Plenty of room to have a drink and relax even with 4 people, plenty mirror space and a separate sink area from the bathroom so ideal for 4 girls sharing! We were allowed to check in early and the check out time is midday. Breakfast wasn't included in the deal we got but we were told we could come to breakfast for a separate amount if we wanted from 7 - 11am. All in all we enjoyed our stay here!
The Hotel was exellent & great location. The staff were very nice & very helpfull
Lovely hotel, very central and perfect for getting out and about in the city. Excellent facilities and the room had everything we needed. The bed was absolutely huge! All in all it was a very enjoyable stay and I would thouroughly recommend.
Hotel part refurbished - rooms yet to be upgraded are very 'tired' and in need of some TLC. Staff very helpful, nice pool!
Very good hotel. Good location and the rooms were excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.
This is my fourth stay at the THISTLE HOTEL, we came up from CUMBRIA for my husband 50th birthday along with a couple of friends. We stayed in an executive double double, altuough the rooms could be doing with being refurbished they are very very comfortable and very, very spacious, with the added touch of a small fridge. Would certainly book same again. The hotel is in a prime location for shopping and night life. The facilities and the staff are excellent. I wouldn-t stay at any other hotel. One of my favourite hotels to stay in in Glasgow. Staff have always been pleasant, courteous and very helpful on the numerous times I've stayed there, either with my partner or with my children. Swimming pool is great (if a little cold sometimes) although policy dictates that one adult can supervise only 2 children under the age of 16 in the pool. Rooms are well presented and clean (even by my self-confessed very high expectations) and the whole hotel is lovely to be in. Car parking on the lower ground level is very useful too and the hotel is very convenient for the motorway. It is also situated right in the city centre and easy to shop from. I would stay here again and again and can't recommend it enough. Didn't have breakfast this time - the only thing I would change would be that it wasn't all self-service, but that does make life easier when I stay there with my children as I can get them the food and quantities they need so I'm still pleased with that. The food is good too.
Arrived at the hotel mid morning to leave my bag as I was going to be out all day. I was welcomed by one of the friendly reception staff and they took my luggage and stored it securely which was great. When I came back to the hotel later that day I was welcomed again and checked in very quickly and efficently. Had room service that night which was reasonably priced and delivered quickly. Next day i used the leisure facilities which were very quiet but clean and tidy. I would recommend a stay at this hotel if you are looking for a hotel in the middle of Glasgow city centre.
Location was excellent, as were the facilities. We seemed to be upgraded to one of the newly refurbished rooms, and we were not charged for the car park. The booking was on room only basis and we did not eat breakfast at the hotel - but go down West George Street and there is an excellent little cafe with a wonderful full breakfast and porridge! Would certainly stay at the hotel again.
Excellent Hotel in a good location for shops and central Glasgow. Room very spacious and clean.
I had trouble getting into my room as the key only worked sometimes. The noise levels were very high but as this was christmas then you would expect loud noise. The fire alarm went off around 1.30am and the bell was too loud and i nearly had a heart attack and this added to my lack of sleep that night by the way it was a Saturday night. But good hotel, great location. This hotel had a spa swimming pool sauna steam room but all of the hot stuff was on a 10 minute timer this was a problem because you had to freze in between. I would use this hotel again but another time in the year.
very friendly staff , and very helpfull .will return to hotel soon.
Very good location, we were in one of the older rooms that had still to updated but it was still very clean and tidy.
