"Great view of the airport from the restaurant. Rooms are OK ... nothing great, but at the price, they are good value. " - Henry Wiebell
"Despite claims that it is soundproof I was kept awake by or woken by aircraft. Leisure facilities are sparse and there is damp on the walls, the floor in the steam room is slippery and I did not see any members of staff checking on the clients, the hotel does not advertise that across the road is actually a fair way off, or that despite being a Thistle guest you still have to pay to use the facilities. I had to wait ages for my meal to arrive, I was on the brink of walking out when it did arrive. The meal itself and choice of wine made up for that though and the price ok. I liked having a teapot in the room and they give you biscuits every day unlike some other hotels. The shower was too hot on its coldest setting. On turning it hotter it became scalding (I did a test). My key de-registered and at one point I was in a queue at reception with people whos keys had done same. Despite the above I will be going back to it again same time next year but I know what to expect. " - Anonymous
"This hotel offers a good standard of accommodation, the rooms are not very big, but are functional, the decor is a bit dated but the rooms are kept very clean, the shower was very good. The location is ideal for stop overs from heathrow with very short transfer times, on the downside it is close to one of the runways, when the runway is used for take off in the westerly direction the noise is a problem if trying to sleep. (the airport is normally closed between 11.30pm and 6.00am)" - ian maclennan
"Handy overnight waiting for a flight." - stuart gorst
