We stayed for 1 night. We were family of 4 - 2 adults & 2 children. We had a king bed with 1 folding bed. Room was not large but quite adequate. Beautiful decor, excellent service and breakfast had a mix of western and chinese - food was very good. We taxied everywhere so not sure of exact location. Found Chinese market near by which was quite interesting and fun. Staff were extremely helpful in every way. Definately recommended

The concierge was an amazing help. Very nice facility, we'd happily stay there again.
Very nice hotel. Staff speaks some english and is very helpful. Vast selection of food for breakfast.
This is one of my favorite finds in China and we stayed here before and returned to stay here again after our Tibet trip. The staff was extremely helpful and even protective of us on one occasion with a taxi driver when they helped negotiate a price for an excursion and the driver tried to get more money than agreed upon afterward (we were stopped in front of the hotel ready to disembark) Love this hotel.
A fantastic hotel with beautiful decor - the staff were incredibly helpful and it's cheap. We had guides who picked us up from our hotel for everything so the location wasn't an issue, but on arrival it's a little difficult to find.
I liked the Tibet Hotel in Chengdu. Not luxury but all was very good. If you will choose safe hotel, I recommend this one.
Its a bit of a shame, women cant use the official sauna..that's only for men! After some protest of me, I could use a small sauna and steamer in the back, behind the massage-section.Staff is helpfull, although most of their English is poor. It was a nice surprise to get a present for my birthday, when I checked out.I would love to stay there again!
First room we (2 ppl) were put into had fake windows: there was nothing but concrete behind the dimmly lit curtains (trying to imitate outside light). We had to insist for hours before they would change the room, and even then it was with great reluctance. Staff at the reception were either extremely friendly or unfriendly depending on the shift. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is situated within quite a walk from downtown but right next to the train-station (which is why we chose this one). The rooms were very spacious and well taken care of. The hotel arranged for cabs even when the city seemed to run short of them and helped out with whatever enquieries we had. Overall a good place to stay, IF you manage to get a room with real windows.
This is a lovely hotel and well worth a visit. We also stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Shanghai which was much more expensive but we prefered this hotel and it felt warmer and more homely.
Located on the fringe of the CBD it is an easy walk to the centre of town but is outside the main traffic congestion. A working and renovated monestery is a 5 min walk away, with local street markets around the corner. Staff and service were top rate, and buffet breakfasts wonderful. Taxi trips to and from Panda Research centre easy (30 mins & 50 Yuan one way) as the hotel is on the right side of town. We would have no hesitation in staying again.
The Tibet Hotel is well positioned for those wishing to visit the Giant Panda Breeding Base, which is about 20 minutes away by taxi. The rooms are a good size, well designed and supplied and very good value. On site dining options are reasonable with a good Szechuan restaurant on the ground floor, and western friendly restaurant on the first floor. For a one night stay, this was an excellent choice.
This hotel was perfect - a big room with big beds, big bathroom, spotlessly clean- very polite staff. The information that Andrew McDonald wrote in April was very helpful - the taxi drivers at the train station tried to charge us 50 yuan for what is a 6-10 yuan ride (or a five block walk). Walking away from the cab rank reduced the price to 10 yuan.
This is a gem of a hotel. Though not very central to the people's park it is only about 9-10 RMB taxi ride (if you can manage to stop one) and is better located than central hotels for places to eat.
Excellent hotlel, 3 restaurants and lots of things to do in the hotel, good food and good service.
This hotel really provide 5 stars services to all his customer. Carry on the good jobs!!
The Tibet Hotel is a very good Hotel with beautiful rooms. The Beds are firm but you have to get used to this in China. The Breakfast buffet was very good. The location is close to the train station. We arrived at 5:30 AM in the morning on Sleeper train from Xian. We found the Taxis not willing to turn on the meter and asking 40-50 yuan for the short trip to the hotel. We instead move away from the Taxi rank and waved a taxi down. The rooms were not available when we arrived so we headed out to see the Pandas 32 Yuan via a crazy taxi driver who spent 90% of the trip on the wrong side of the road. The location is a little out of the centre of Chengdu but this is not an issue as Taxis are cheap if travelling as a family.
Staff very good. Very couteous and helpful without being obsequious. Huge breakfasts available, decor tasteful, rather a bit away from the down town area but that is a blessing in Chengdu. Great little market round the back, lovely shower, plenty of room.
The staff were helpful and friendly and are really trying hard to use the English language, hopefully this will improve more and more over time. The facilities are excellent and very clean. The hotel is in a busy area and there is good access to atm's, shops and a street food market.
The best hotel I used in China. Although it's located a little far from the shopping center, it has no problem because you can use a taxi. I strongly recommend this hotel if you stay in Chengdu.
