Very conveniently located just across the street from the massive JR Kyoto Station (Shinkansen and local trains) and the city's main bus station (frequent and cheap bus services to many suburbs / tourist attractions, including Kinkakuji 'Golden' Temple). Very proficient reception staff, well appointed and serviced room. Great value for what I paid per night, and definitely among the top 5 hotels of the dozen I stayed in during my 3 weeks visit to western Japan, September 2011.
Tower Hotel Kyoto was my selection is mainly from their superb location(just infront JR Kyoto station) and the price is not so high. Staffs are good in English communication and best willingness to their services. Kasem from Thailand(September,2011)

Conveniently located right in front of Kyoto railway station and surrounding area have shopping and plenty of food restaurants. Easy to take the local buses and subway also. Very courteous and friendly staff although only a few understand some english.
We enjoyed our stay at the Tower Hotel Kyoto. It was very clean and comfortable, with friendly helpful staff. It is a great hotel for a visitor to Kyoto as it is directly across the road from Kyoto Rail station and the main bus terminal. We bought a one day bus pass for Y500 JPN and were able to travel all over Kyoto from just in front of the hotel. The hotel gave us complimentary tickets to go up the Kyoto Tower to the observation level, which was lovely (and saved some pennies). We were very happy to find so many restaurants and cafes (including Starbucks when we wanted European coffee!) so close to the hotel, too. An excellent choice and would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to others.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Rooms are clean and spcious with a contempory Japanese feel. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was a nice surprise to discover we given free entry to the Tower obsevatory. Most importantly, the location was ideal, 2 min walk to the main train and bus station.
The room is larger than we expected compared to Japan's standard. Location is excellent. We also got a free voucher to visit the Kyoto Tower. Great location. Good value!
Very good location. Just across the Kyoto tower station. good for an overnight stay
Rooms are pretty good and have decent space. However, if you like your internet access, this hotel has some serious catching up to do. We changed rooms THREE TIMES to try to get the internet fully functioning, still was very slow. Staff are helpful and friendly.
excellent value hotel in great location for sightseeing directly opposite main bus station that can get you to all sights easily. rooms are small but clean, fairly standard for japan, and good value for money.
Room pretty small even by Japanese standards but location very good and handy for transportation
If breakfast could be included in the rate even with some higher rate, I will better.
Great place for a stop over in Kyoto. And a free ticket up the tower. Great value too.
We received excellent service from the staff and even though we arrived 1.5 hrs early we were permitted to check-in and receive our room allocation. Our room was spacious, tidy and very clean. The location is just across the road from the JR station which was very good, particularly in wet weather. Transport to all the major attractions was very close to the hotel and some were within walking distance. We would be very pleased to recommend your hotel to our friends.
A very nice hotel. Very clean, comfortable beds. all the necessary amenities were there. Right across the central station so easy to get anywhere in Kyoto . We really liked this hotel.
Japanese hotels appear over-priced to me as a veteran traveller in Asia, and space is so limited. Apart from that, location was good, opposite Kyoto main station; service was acceptable; free cable internet was nice (but very slow); I don't like green tea and would have welcomed the ingredients to make coffee which is normally provided at this level.
great location opposite the station and that helped in being able to find our way around kyoto. Not noisy even though it was opposite. starbucks and macdonalds on the corner which kept my teenage sons happy and was a good place for breakfast and hot chocolate in the evening.
It was nice very close to Kyoto station. Internet and 1 ticket for Kyoto tower are free. I've just found that there is a 100 yen shop on 2nd floor of the souvenir shop closed to the hotel.
We had 3 days at the the Tower Hotel Kyoto and it's location directly opposite Kyoto Railway Station made it a very convenient place to stay as we were day tripping to other places including Nara, Oji and Sakurai. It is also located on the same street as the Imperial Palace, Higashi Honganji Temple and the Kyoto International Manga Museum. Nijo Castle and the Nishijin Silk Factory are also on the tourist "loop" and are quite within walking distance of the hotel. There is plenty of shopping and good value eateries available directly beneath the hotel in the subway mall if you don't fancy paying at the hotel restaurants (a little on the expensive side). The Hotel was comfortable and didn't disappoint except that we couldn't get any television in english, even after purchasing a movie card it was all still in Japanese. I would certainly stay at the Tower again.
Hi, I rate this hotel provides an excellent value for money.
The location is only 5 mins walk from Kyoto station - where you need to take different bus/subway to all around Kyoto. Very convenient and the room suprisingly quite large from standard Japan's room. The price definitely affordable.
